Ovechkin needs to play a year or two in Russia under an authoritarian and disciplinary coach in order to regain the form he used to have.

Ovechkin was at his best in 2005-2007. Ever since his skills have eroded.

Considering that Boudreau is probably one of the least structural coaches I can think of, I'd think just getting him out of Washington is enough.

Or getting rid of Bruce Boudreau.

I do find it odd that Ovechkin does not appear to be the same force for Russia as he is for the Capitals. I certainly don't think Ovechkin is a choker or whatever has been discussed in this thread. He's actually been a force for Washington in the playoffs and he was their best player.

But for whatever reason he can't seem to put it together for Russia. It is weird.
