I think they are limited. I believe there's a 4-5 million ceiling for rookie contracts which includes the congregate bonuses. It's the rookie base salary that's been lowered and capped.

If I remember correctly the CBA makes sure those bonuses pretty damn hard to achieve the maximum on too. They I suppose tried to make sure that they did not make every top slelection get things like 'gets out of bed one morning out of ten, $1 million,' etc. etc.

sorry but what he meant is he wants to put the team 1st on his plans.. maybe he didnt express himself properly, or maybe the translator make a mistake..

the team will remain his priority.. come on guys... i tought it was because of the picture... cause for me it wasnt a no brainer it wasnt that sentence.

As a 2004 draftee who was given a contract before (what ever the cutoff was) Ovechkin's contract is a blend of the old and new CBA.
