Happy New Year HF Oil.

(Mods, sorry, I wasn't sure if this should go somewhere else. Feel free to move/merge.)

To get our mind off the Oiler's woes for a bit, I was curious if anyone has had any shinny luck at their local community rink so far this season? I was hoping to get in some outdoor ice over the break, especially since it warmed up a bit, and each time I walked over to my local rink, it was all locked up. There is ice poured, so someone has been tending to it, but maybe it's not ready yet. I know of at least one rink in the west end that has been open for a while...

Anyone get in any skates recently?

I just dangled a bunch of kids at castledowns rec centre today
It's pretty sweet there, oval rink with full rink in the middle for shinny plus tow other rinks all outside and free.

Main area has lights on you can go right now!

I play northside.

Wellington
Kensignton
Kilkenny
Delton

All 4 are open everyday and can usually get enough people to play.
Had some goalies out a few times too.

There's one literally outside my back yard if you're willing to drive to Woodhaven (199 Street and 35 Avenue NW) it's just a storm pond but my neighbours maintain it with nets, lights, and benches and there's always people playing on it.
