projected down the road... not for this coming season. He was likely a lock for their 3rd-pairing (unless he beat out one of the top-4 incumbents - Giordano/Brodie/Hanifin/Hamonic, which was unlikely).

Flames were already in the market for a veteran depth dman prior to his injury, with it they're likely looking for 2 bottom-pairing caliber guys over the coming weeks/months.

Tampa Bay was already soft at the forward position with Miller and Erne.

Stevie Y. trades for a player he drafted. Jacob De Le Rose could be in tough to make the Wings opening roster.

I haven't heard any update on his heart condition.

    Wasn`t thinking of that.

I look at roster projections each year before the season and he looked at best around the 12th forward before the trade for Erne (behind Larkin, Mantha, Bertuzzi, Athanasiou, Filppula, Hirose, Helm, Glendening, Nielsen, Abdelkader and Rasmussen). They have several rookies who could be close including Zadina so add Erne and it becomes a numbers game.

as long as he doesn't have any issues with the heart he should be on the team I would think, granted if he has a bad camp or others have a much better camp. He was in comp with fellow Swede Ehn if I recall correctly, but he was likely looking at being the 12th forward at best before the heart condition.

I like it, though I'd go a lot wilder if I were to make a 3rd jersey on top of the traditional Habs attire. It's just some colors inverted.

Yeah it was a good trade…..and the Habs are sitting on 4 x 4th round pick.
Can't believe we let that one pass us…...we could have 5 x 4th round pick right now :sarcasm:

Correct. As an LD he’d have been behind Gio/Hanifin on the depth chart to start the season. Kylington is good enough to take over that spot and Davidson as a lefty is good enough as a 7th D

Really just have to add a cheap 7-8 guy and all is good. 1 year UFA deal for 700-800k or a waiver pickup in camp

Anyone know why Jake Gardiner is still not signed? Weird that there seems to be little interest or news on the matter.
