So how bad do we have to suck the rest of the way to have an NHL #1 pick to go alongside our NFL #1 pick?

We're amazingly only 8 points away from the second worst record in the league and 11 points from the worst record.

Also, on November 18th, the Preds were tied for 2nd in the West with 25 points and 5 points behind Dallas for best in the West while having played two less games.

Standings since then of the teams that are either currently behind or tied with the Predators in points.

Nashville 8-14-4 (20 points, 26 games played)
Columbus 8-13-4 (20 points, 25 games played)
Edmonton 11-11-2 (24 points, 24 games played)
Calgary 12-8-1 (25 points, 21 games played)
Colorado 14-9-2 (30 points, 25 games played)
Anaheim 11-8-3 (25 points, 22 games played)
Arizona 12-8-3 (27 points, 23 games played)
Vancouver 10-9-4 (24 points, 23 games played)
Winnipeg 10-12-1 (21 points, 23 games played)
Carolina 13-8-5 (31 points, 26 games played)
Toronto 10-8-3 (23 points, 21 games played)
Philadelphia 12-7-3 (27 points, 22 games played)
Buffalo 9-13-3 (21 points, 25 games played)
San Jose 11-10-2 (24 points, 23 games played)

We are the worst team in the league in that stretch. Worse than Montreal without Price. Worse than Columbus. This is a two month stretch basically. Nearly a third of the season we've been the worst team in the NHL.

This team has been in a slump since October.

Sure, the Preds can definitely still make the playoffs, but let's not pretend that we're definitely making it this year.
This team has been in a slump since last Feburary. We should forget this season and go hard for Matthews.

As shown tonight as Rinne goes the team goes. Once again his save % is in the dumpster, and the team loses. This trend has continued from last season, and I don't have any good thoughts on how to get him out of it. 'Should' they give Hutton some real time in net, let Rinne watch from the bench for a bit ('will' they is a big NO I know btw)?

This is baffling. And on pace for 63 points over 82 games.

Same ****, different day.

What a shock, the idea that going to the net actually produced goals! :amazed:

I just don't get it. We do good things, play well, but the puck just refuses to go into the net. Outplay, outchance, outshoot a team, yet come away with a loss. I keep reading that analytics say we should be better and things will even out over the year. Hope it starts soon.

Oh hockey Gods why do you hate us so?

At least we didn't give up a PK goal that's a start. Individual mistakes cost us this game tonight and the lack of scoring. We'll win in Winnipeg.

I hate to admit it but, I don't think the current roster is good enough to make the roster... I didn't watch the game last night, but hearing about it from my family made it sound like we were outclassed 90% of the game. Dunno if it is true or not, but we have to find ways to win games. Just isn't happening.

Chicago once again proving that you don't have to hit all night to win. Hits 20-45, but goals in front of the net: 2-1. You have to physical in strategic places. Man, is the Hawks good team such a beautiful puck control.
