It seemed really full and happening place whenever I was there this past winter. Trending in the right direction for a few years now but no idea how the future will play out??

We're you there only during game nights? I always wondered how business was when the Cards and Yotes were not playing.

No. Hit the outlets and Salt fairly regularly. Weekends are normally fairly busy although like everywhere week nights are slower.

Has this been posted anywhere...

Westgate Glendale is for sale for $141 million.

6751 N Sunset Blvd, Glendale, AZ, 85305

I'm kind of surprised by 89% occupancy, still has an empty vibe there.

It was in BoH a while back.

Westgate is roughly 1/4 the size it was originally supposed to be. There’s a couple new businesses going in soon and a new housing complex is under construction on the north end. But it will never reach what it was supposed to be. The Tohono’s casino resort to the north will eventually catch it in size. Then it’ll be interesting to see how it holds up.

Perhaps we'll here something in about a week, you know, around two weeks before the draft

A few days old, but just came across this Daly quote. An expansion on his earlier remarks that the Coyotes have 3 arena options:

"They’re working on it," he said. "We actually had a conference call on Friday of this week, so I think there continues to be a high level of confidence that they can get something done. A lot of different moving pieces, a lot of communities in the Valley are interested in helping them out and the benefits an arena can bring."

I would love to know who the "we" are that took part in the call.

Mayor Stanton is out as of a few days ago. Probably our biggest advocate within the City of Phoenix.

I still think Salt River comes through at some point.

Looks like the "2 week" overcommitting messages left with the LeBlanc. Now we live in the you'll know when we want you to know messages.

It's got to be Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community or Houston Texas at this point, right? One or the other?

Also, this has to be our last season in Glendale without having a decision on a long-term home, right? Once we have a deal finalized to move to tribal land, we'd probably just play season-to-season in Glendale until the new venue is available. If it's Houston, we could just move next summer. Either way, we can't seriously play more than one more season in Glendale without a plan (public or private), right?

That's the way I see it. I can't imagine a Valley municipality interested in hopping on board the subsidy train, and Mr. Barroway needs investors if he's going to stick around. My thinking is that if they're doing a deal with the tribe on any of their plots of land, whichever tribal family makes the deal might also get a piece of the team. But there's going to be some resolution here before the next Final - I can't see how this limbo can continue even with Seattle's expansion coming online.

Of course we can. As the westward expansion has finally been re-set and the team (hopefully) improves, the odds of filling the arena in Glendale increase.

So long as the team's marketing department's minds are firmly locked on the East Valley, the arena in Glendale will never fill to capacity outside of Blackhawks, Red Wings, and playoff games.

I suppose this could include putting an ice sheet in Chase Field when Kendrick's extortion plot fails and the D-Bags leave.

Wellllllllllllll, we don't know that for sure - not a given that their design for the ASU-partnered arena is the one they'd go with with, say, the tribes.

I agree with that assessment.

ASU’s size requirements were never going to be as high as you would have in an open environment. 16.5k was the best fit for both parties involved.

The tribe would probably want something a bit bigger to accommodate a larger variety on things.

While the alignment with ASU may very well have influenced the arena size, I specifically remember the Coyotes stating that they wanted a smaller venue.

I guess we'll see....

Or we won't.

It may still be true - my point is that we don't know yet for sure. Honestly? The ideal size for the arena probably would be 15,000, like Winnipeg's. That's an achievable target for Arizona the way things stand. But again, what Anthony LeBlanc said about the new arena is moot now that he's out running cannabis stores or whatever.

The Coyotes wanted fewer luxury boxes, IIRC. As do the Dbacks. They're not nearly as popular with corporate America as they were before the Derivatives Debacle.
