I know. How awful. We have to play our #1 center over the guy with 7 career points.

Da Costa plays = Ryan and Michalek score.

Spezza plays = Ryan and Michalek don't score.

Just saying.

Also, it was implied that I want to see Kassian sit, not DC.

Not true actually.

And I'm sure there have been instances in the past where "Spezza plays" and yet Ryan and Michalek do score.

Da Costa has absolutely nothing to do with either Michalek or Ryan scoring.

To be fair he won the faceoff on the powerplay for the Ryan goal, and he made a nice screen in front of the net for Milo's goal, but Spezza could do it easily too, actually he's our best faceoff man. I'm a huge Spezza fan, but he looked slow this year in his 2 games, maybe it's the groin, we'll see! Da Costa is faster but at the same time he's weaker than Spezz so there's good and bad with both. Spezz >>>>> SDC , and I'm fine cause Kassian is sitting, so useless

Mix up the lines... Da Costa cannot play on line 4 again with these scrubs.

Greening - Spezza - Ryan
MacArthur - Turris - Conacher
Michalek - Pageau - Da Costa
Condra - Smith - Neil (these 2 desperately need someone with hockey sense)

Mandy, you are starting to reach in your arguments.

It is okay to admit when you are wrong.

I never said Da Costa is better, and I never said I wanted Spezza to sit.

And notice my lines... I have Ryan with Spezza and Da Costa on the 3rd line.

So, what am I wrong about in this situation?

lol I have Spezza on the 1st line. What's the issue?

The whole point is I don't want DC sitting, a reasonable request

Maclean clearly doesn't like Da Costa, there must be something about his game (i.e. his lack of a defensive one) that sours Maclean.

A player like Da Costa, with his hands and offensive awareness (and lack of a two-way game), needs Top 9, even Top 6 minutes every night to be noticed.

I think SDC has been criticized by Sens fans for two reasons:
a) He's had limited opportunities in the proper role (Top 6) for a player of his type.
b) He is straight-up a different style of player than the players he's been surrounded with for the most part on the bottom two lines (skill, hands, offensive creativity, not much D to be had from him).

I'm assuming in my line up that he's going back down to the depths of the fourth line, but I'm really hoping someone will correct me and tell me he's actually slotted into the second or third line (though it wouldn't be fair to bump Turris, who IMO has been the best Sen thus far).
