Proposal: Ottawa-Philadelphia

Ottawa trades rights to LD Mikael Wikstrand and a 2022 6th round pick to Philadelphia for rights to LD Robert Hagg.

Reasoning for trade proposal, Ottawa might not be able to sign Wikstrand by next seasons deadline and Philadelphia needs just a little cap space for wiggle room which Ottawa has.

Senators get: LD Robert Hagg rights

Flyers get: LD Mikael Wikstrand rights and a 2022 6th round pick

I'm fine with it. I like Hagg for what he brings as a bottom pairing guy, very physical, stands up for his teammates but advanced stats suggest he's very lucky. There's depth at the position so yeah wouldn't be a big loss. I'd take Wikstrand.

Kind of a moot trade, but sure. Really a HUGE shame about Morin. Flyers needed his edge but after back-to-back torn ACLs...kind of doubtful he plays pros especially w/ AHL being shut down lol

Wikstrand had a decent season with the KHL’s AK Bars Kazan last season in Russia.
Maybe he just doesn’t want to play for Ottawa some players are picky about the team they want to play for or does Wikstrand want to stay on the European continent. Not sure about Wikstrand’s personality or his reasoning for not wanting to play in North America.

Maybe,but when we brought him over in training camp ..He took off as soon as he realised he wasnt going to start in the nhl,he left training camp without telling anyone ..And went home,BM was furious as we had already gave him a bonus,and made him sit for almost the entire year ...

As he couldnt play in any league as he had already signed to play on or team,the guy isnt worth your time TBH

Hagg is unbelievable horrible. No one would be dumb enough to give value for Hagg. Barely an nhl dman.

Think philly signs Haag to a 2 year deal and he fills in as expansion fodder

Ottawa needs defensemen in the NHL and organizationally.
I’d be happy with just a 6th for Hagg, it would open up atleast 1.15mil for philly.

Philly could turn around and sign a cheap vet defenseman on a PTO for 1 season while Friedman get his feet wet in the NHL and Zumula gets a season in the AHL.
