Carlson is a UFA ... so no value there, since Euge won’t give him the dollars, if he is even willing to sign here, not likely. Backstroke is great, but considering age, contracts, etc, and where the Sens are at, will be of no use to us by the time we are in contention. Terrible for the Sens.

And you want the best D in the world AND 4 OV for that? LOL

Doesn't work for Ottawa. Maybe if Carlson was signed longer at 4mil it might be close but as is this is pretty brutal. Evem if they signed Carlson, Ottawa would have to add all the cap that they're refusing to give Karlsson and still lose their top 5 pick this year. No way for Ottawa to break evem here.
