Yeah, he's a very good 3C who takes difficult deployment and gets pretty good results

Just their draft alone makes them have a successful off-season. Adding Dadonov is a big win for them. Not sold on Matt Murray, though. But maybe the change from Pittsburgh could do him some good.

That's not a great contract for a 3C. First year seems okay, but $4.2M (and $3.5M cap hit) is a bit high.

Agreed. Tierny isn't flashy, doesn't really excel anywhere but he does everything decently. He's kinda like a slightly less skilled version of Brian Smolinski.

I think it's a solid signing.

Don't know a ton about him, but it seems just a tad on the high end for his stat line. But, I guess it is still in the general range for players his age and overall production. Keep up the great off-season, Ottawa.

Exactly He should b a perfect 3c for a contender. Ottawa can afford to overpay slightly for 2 years. If they don't lose him in the expansion draft they can move him at the trade deadline next season (if his next contract demands are too high for a 3c).

meh. Tierney is nothing special but we need centre depth. I'm surprised we did more than 1 year to be honest. I agree with others that he will be traded next year for a pick before the playoffs.
