why ? 16-32-44 very good picks..

there is no big difference between 3-10 10-20 in this year...

only if soderstrom available..: (

I think there's a huge difference after about pick 8 or 10, the talent drops off considerably. I totally get trying to move up to where there is still a perceived difference-maker on the board, as opposed to drafting like 18th and having to take a 2nd or 3rd tier talent.

Having said that, I do think that it's really hard to move from around 18 to 8 or so. So I'd probably just look for depth or even move down for a future 1st if I'm Ottawa.

CBJ 1st (if it's pick #19) + pick #32 for pick #3 and Brent Seabrook.

If they weren't so damn cheap, that would be an interesting proposal. I think Chicago adds a bit, but the value is not far off.

You don't consider Benning and Manning to be cap dumps?
No. Benning can play on anyone's bottom pairing. Manning is 1M against the cap while buried in the minors. They're both signed for 1 year.

The Oilers aren't giving up assets to get rid of them. Lucic is the only one worth giving up assets to unload.
