Oilers fan coming in peace. Gratz on your second win vs the Kings!!!!

So I have a question for those of you from Vegas. How many of you have turned into hockey fans this year? Watching this game on TV reminds me of the Oilers playoff run last year and man was it fun! Your crowds and fans seem super passionate and as a hockey fan I love seeing this out of the newest expansion team. Grats on the record breaking season and hopefully we will meet in the playoffs next year :)

edit: Im curios to understand what the hockey culture in vegas is like after just 1 season and id love hearing stories of people falling in love with this sport that im so passionate about.

@randomrob7 -- lots of stories have been posted about how the team has gel-ed with city. Even one of the gubernatorial candidates has made a commercial about bringing hockey to LV (on his watch as county commissioner chair).

(I'm too tired to look now.)

My son Sean Patrick is going to his first prom today. With his naturally wavy hair and tux, he looks good.

The Cubs were down 10-2 and are up 14-10. Life is good.

Man, watching this series brings back great memories of my time in Vegas, one of my favorite cities of all time.

Question, I lived there back 96-98 somewhere out there I believed they had just finished the Summerlin communities, it was being touted as a great new community etc.. how big is the city now, what's the cost of living, how's housing etc? Wanna see if it's worth talking my wife into moving too lol, I own my own business and can work from pretty much everywhere

Summerlin has many more communities. New developments to west and north (of 215), as well as south. Henderson and NLV growing as well.

Population in valley is estimated at 2m+ (with 40m annual visitors). Housing prices going up. But still less than California. (Lots of ex-pat Californians)

Thanks, from what I remember, and we are talking about a bad memory and 20 years ago, NE wasn't "desirable" as NW, same with the SE,

Henderson and Boulder City were both meh, development probably changed that,

I used to work at the old rink which is now roller, on Sahara, in that plaza....while officiating WSHL games, the double rink, where it was end to end, not sure if that's still around either.

There are two Hendersons. There is old Henderson, or Hendertucky if you will, which used to be trailer park central and still is as far as I can tell. And then there's Green Valley, McDonald Ranch, Anthem, and Seven Hills, that are all very nice high middle to upscale neighborhoods.

LOL I vaguely remember Green Valley, I remember the the only rink used to be in the Casino way up on the north side, never thought I would forget the name of that one, but I have, I remember walking there with my gear, from Palace Station, that wasn't fun lol

Fiesta Rancho.

Palace Station to Fiesta, with or without gear, is quite a hike. Yikes!
