Raiders’ NFL opener in Las Vegas could be on Sunday night

NFL trying to accommodate three teams opening their (two) new venues. Could be Rams on Thursday, Raiders on Sunday and Chargers on Monday -- all in prime time.

Hi everyone,

We're coming from Finland to do a west coast hockey trip in mid-March. After 4 days in LA, we drive to Vegas for another 4 days before heading to San Jose to finish the trip.

Couple of questions:

How likely is the home game vs Dallas on Tuesday March 17th to sell out and where would you suggest we get the tickets from. We need 4 tickets.

Hotel. We're most likely going to stay in Mirage. Would there be better options in roughly similar price range? We'll be in town from Monday to Friday.

We also want to check out Grand Canyon at South Rim. Is it viable to stop at Hoover Dam on the same day for a tour or should we schedule it to another day?

Sorry if there is topic for these types of questions, couldn't find it.

Travel in/around Las Vegas FAQ
Things to do in/around Las Vegas
should answer some of your questions. Staying at New York, MGM Park, or even MGM Grand, Excalibur, Tropicana mean you walk "across the street" to the arena.

Grand Canyon is a full day as you're doing a lot of driving (or in helicopter) and wouldn't really have time to stop at dam and do a decent (2+ hour) tour.

Guess the raiders want their logo to pop at midfield. Cause you can clearly see the cover up when you see a rams or trojans game with the other teams logo at midfield.

Will still be an issue for the Rams and chargers unless each has their own grass field.
