The owners don't own the players lol. I hope people realize this. They own the business. Players are contracted employees free to sign or not sign a contract in their free will.

Its just a bad look when you have mostly black players and you call their employers owners.

I hope not. Using the term CEO or Managing Director, etc. doesn't accurately reflect the power structure in sports to that of other industries. The CEO of most organizations can be fired or replaced due to poor performance of the company but an owner of a sports team cannot be fired for that same reason.
