Rando on twitter with a morale idea I liked: everybody on the team shaves his head at the start of the playoffs in solidarity. Unclear if that means the playoff beards have to go or not, but I'm mainly thinking of Jake with a clean top and shaggy bottom. Berserker mode.

It'd be quite a striking image in warmups and probably would be picked up nationally (er, internationally). A strong show of unity and everyone on the same page.

The Bjorn Ironside look, Vikings at war!

He’s at risk for sure. But he should not change that much as he’s at risk for a lot of stuff that healthy people would not even know they are fighting off like fungus. But if he gets covid he is in the increased risk group.

I honestly was surprised that the docs let him go to the team picture for this very reason.

High risk for Oskar is an understatement. If he's getting the chemo guidelines say he should be getting, his immune system is nonexistent

Actually, he's not at that much more risk, because none of us have an immune system that recognizes the Covid-19 virus.
That's the gist of the problem.

Why are you like this

People were claiming he was high risk for Covid-19, that's missing the point, everyone is high risk in the sense they have no immunity to it.
Oskar is high risk period, Covid-19 doesn't change that to a great extent.
Given he's young and otherwise in excellent health, not sure how great of risk he actually faces.
Higher than someone not going through Chemo, as high as someone with respiratory issues?

Sure hope Oskar and his care-givers are being super cautious.

"In a study of the COVID-19 crisis in China reported in The Lancet Oncology, Liang et al found that patients with cancer may be at a higher risk of COVID-19 respiratory disease requiring admission to hospital than individuals without cancer, and that those with cancer who contract the virus have a higher likelihood of poor disease outcomes."

"Patients with cancer who had undergone chemotherapy or surgery in the past month were at greater risk of clinically severe events (3 [75%] of 4 patients) vs those who had not (6 [43%] of 14 patients; odds ratio [OR] = 5.34, P = .0026 in analysis adjusting for risk factors including age, smoking history, and other comorbidities)."

Has there has been any update on how Oskar is doing? He's going through so much. Hopefully he can fully recover!

From what was said just prior to the shutdown, the team was balancing a fine line between offering the public updates and respecting the player's privacy. There hasn't been anything stated in the past few days.

If he's going through his last treatments, sounds like it's in remission and they're just making sure.
