Makes me much more interested. The freedom and spectacle of an open world is one of my favorite things in a one-player game. Obviously I get the concerns about it and understand that a lot of games make concessions in other areas in order to make the game open-world, but it's only if it's done poorly.

It's tough to know what people define as an open world though.

Hearing that a game is open world will likely make me more interested, but it really depends on what else there is to the game's description. I won't buy or not buy a game based on that alone, but it's one of those things that I'll immediately note as a possible positive.

I'm prone to wanting to wander off the story line, and go do my own thing for awhile - open world is more likely to accommodate that for awhile than a non-open world.

Still, how much I enjoy a game is definitely going to depend heavily on a lot of other factors.
