Well THAT we could manage no problem.

Really though, how long has it been since there's been this kind of a prohibitive favorite...the early '90's Penguins? I don't think even the Wings were a prohibitive favorite when they went back to back since they still had to deal with Colorado.

I think Tampa may come out of the east again, although I'm sure the Caps would have something to say about that.

Goals against review for tonight’s playoff games

Islanders vs Penguins: 3 goals against Sorokin, 2 stoppable. 4 goals against Jarry, all 4 are stoppable.

Wild vs Golden Knights: 1 goal against Fleury, no chance. Talbot gets the shutout.

Lightning vs Panthers: 4 goals against Vasilevskiy, 1 stoppable. 5 goals against Bobrovsky, 2 stoppable.

So that’s 17 goals scored on goalies, 9 are stoppable. That’s 53% of the goals scored were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .927%.

Vegas can’t score in the playoffs and it’s super bizarre. This was their issue last year as well. I feel bad for MAF, he put on a show. I also have to give props to Cam Talbot?! I guess Edmonton makes all goalies look bad..
And Calgary . Talbot looked shaky his entire time in Calgary but played decent in the bubble but choked in the last game vs Dallas.
I think the Flames screwed up with investing so much in Markstrom . He is a very good goalie but the term and $$ was a little steep?

Softy of the night is this Brock Nelson goal on Jarry

It was hard to decide which goal on Jarry would be softy of the night, but this has gotta be the winner because it goes right through him.

Thanks to the BS circumvention by the lightning, Coleman might be a two time SC champion. Even with one ring he would fill the veteran leadership role, Beautifully. He is perfect for the 3rd line, kills penalties, and his numbers are solid. He would probably be great on Mikey’s line too, if Wood needs to move up in the lineup..

Rooting against the Avs, Vegas, Lightning and the Leafs for sure. Gotta go with the Oilers to upgrade our pick, I guess I'm pulling for the Pens too, ugh. Not sure about the Caps or Boston. I think I'm pulling for the Canes to win it all.

Can't stand the Lighting in the post season, they're kinda scummy. What a monumentally stupid hit by Bennett on Coleman, up a goal with 7 minutes left. I was pretty pissed at that play, can't say enough about how dumb it was.

f*** Boston, Canada and Florida in general. f*** Zach Parise so can't root for the Wild. f*** WAS/PIT because it's so played out. f*** John Hynes so can't back the Preds. I guess f*** NYI for the sake of our pick. Don't really like STL.

Vegas, Carolina, Colorado. Guess I'm good with those three.

Are you saying Tampa is the prohibitive favorite because they aren’t even the favorite, Colorado is. And that was one game, they haven’t won this series yet. Though Bennett being suspended is going to hurt (and is horse shit considering what was going on in that game.)

If Colorado is really a betting favorite over Tampa that’s silly though I get they have to go on the ‘road’ against Florida and Carolina - for whatever home ice advantage is actually worth in a pandemic year. But they’re still the champs with a loaded roster.

I was just pushing back on “prohibitive favorite” part and talking about Tampa like they have a unique dominance now not seen in decades. It was a bit much for me considering the Panthers went toe to toe with them despite missing their top defenseman and having no playoff experience as a team.
