Softy of the night was a real toss up between these two goals.... On the same goalie. I wonder if Tallon tries to trade for Corey Crawford or one of these guys on an expiring contract that are playing for non-playoff teams.

First this Nosek goal on Monteambeault

Then this Carrier goal on Montembeault

That's just a routine save that almost every goalie makes with their glove.

After going 11 wins in a straight the Bolts have yet to win a game with Blake Coleman in the lineup :sarcasm:
I think the Islanders lost like first two with Greene and Coyotes obviously dropped out of playoff position with Hall. All this while the Devils keep winning games without them

So I guess each traded Devil brings a little bit of Hynes curse with them for the new teams. :naughty:

Yet Florida's not able to take advantage of these bad losses. Behind Boston and Tampa, that division looks like a joke. So that Toronto will more likely than not, squeak into the playoffs in spite of this stuff. Very strange.

(The Leafs also should be in the market for a better goal tender. I expect they will over the summer in free agency. But it's odd how reluctant teams are to bet on goalies. They sign other dogs to long term contracts but seem to think they can find goal tenders on the scrap heap. Where would Vegas be without Fleury? I think conservatively 10 points behind where they now reside).

This guy has never played professionally and he's 42 years old (second oldest player to play in the league this year) and he still only allows 2 goals on 10 shots. That accountant a few years ago allows 0 goals on 7 shots.

Which seems to debunk the myth that if a random guy that plays goalie but not professionally came in off the street that he would allow a goal every other shot.

I feel like they're so f***ed at the goalie position, I wouldn't be shocked if they bring back Luongo for the rest of the year.

Monteambeault is so amazingly TRASH and Bobrovsky has been bad.

I think you were a bit hard on Ayres with that "1 goal stoppable" critique earlier.

Just saying...

I grade that goal he allowed to Tavares as a goal stoppable no matter what goalie it goes in on. That doesn’t mean that I’d be as hard on him as an NHL goalie for allowing it, but for data purposes I give him a goal stoppable on that one. To be fair to him, I’ve seen that goal go in on quite a few goalies this year. Montenbeault gave up some worse just last night.

Malcolm Subban is absolutely terrible.

I'm actually really surprised that they haven't been in on the back up goaltender market. The goaltending has been an issue a lot this year. They spent a weird amount of time fixated on their defense which wasn't perfect, but also wasn't as bad as their shopping would lead one to believe.

I think, come playoff time, they'll ride Fleury into the ground. They go as he goes anyways.

Vegas got their back-up goalies dumpster diving. Subban was waiver wire pickup and they also grabbed a couple of other teams mid-20s washouts. The other bums must even be worse that Subban.
