The relief is "league minimum+$375,000", so this year it is $650,000 + $375,000 = $1,025,000

So, on Manning's 2.25 cap hit, they get 1.025 in relief, for a $1,225,000 cap hit

so in this instance, it is close to 50%, but there is a rule for it
IMO, 1 way Salary is 1 way salary.
He gets paid the 1 way amount

Not sure about cap hit

He obviously gets paid that much in dollars by the Oilers. The talk was about wasted cap space.

Actual dollars that buy Brandon Manning exotic sports cars is one thing, but fans mostly care about the dollars that count against the cap.

Loved Patrick Eaves in Dallas but that was just a terrible contract the Ducks gave him. There's a reason Dallas signed him to 1 year deals 3 years in a row. He just couldn't stay healthy. Now the Ducks are stuck with him for his year and next . Well at least he got a good payday out of the Ducks foolishness.

Well, he could have some value to the kids in San Diego
For a hopeful run, especially of Jones and Terry stay

Yeah it’s a bad contract, but his illness/medical condition last season was bizarre (even with his injury-prone reputation/history).

DSP cleared too

Caley, have a question:

Would you expected anyone to be on waivers Sunday? That's since by the time they clear/or not on Monday, GM's only have 3 hours to work with the newfound cap space.
