Definitely one cup plus 9 other playoff appearances. Because getting the cup would be THE thing. Another one is cool but if I don't see competitive hockey in other of those 8 years another one isn't worth it. If you ask one cup and 9 playoff misses or 10 playoffs with no cup, then it would be one cup and 9 misses.

Why would I want to watch my team get shat on in the final 9 out of ten years? That would literally go down as one of the biggest fails in sports history.

Thats what i think too
Unless op made a typo and meant made the playoffs and not finals

But losing in finals 8 out of 9 time? Hell no.

I'd rather see my team go on surprise cup runs every now and then than see them choke in the worst way possible for 90% of a decade.

"Stanley Cup finally" doesn't sound tempting enough. I'll take the 2 Cups, thank you very much.

That's why you play the game. To win.

The NHL playoffs happen every spring and you can watch regardless of who's in it. They don't magically get cancelled for the hockey viewing public whenever a single team doesn't make it.

I enjoyed watching the 2017-18 playoffs, and my team wasn't in them. It was quite relaxing actually, not having to worry about the next goal against.

Two cups. I'm a Panthers, I'm used to missing the playoffs, and making the final 9/10 times and only winning once would kind of suck.

Exactly. Those 9 finals losses would be more painful to endure than your team not even making the playoffs all those seasons.

2 cups.
Nothing else provides the same satisfaction.
I think i'm fortunate to enjoy the game as much as I do. I love playoff hockey whether or not my favorite team is participating or not.

I think saying 9 straight final losses will turn people off from that option. If it was worded like the other 9 years you were still competitive making the playoffs like San Jose or Washington (before their cup win) that would be better

Yeah 1 cup. If my team got that one cup and consistently put together entertaining and long seasons every year after that I wouldnt mind. I'll admit though it would suck to have your team choke in that many Stanley Cup Finals so that makes me question my answer

cheat the system, 2 cups in 10 years, suck for the first 8 then b2b cups and the making of hopefully a dynasty.

If I’m a player I go why he two cups, first ones a shock and the second you can actually enjoy it. As a fan I’d much rather have a cup and 9 years of contention.

After the 10 years is up you 2 cups and have a better prospect pool to win a future cup with the higher draft picks.

You play to win the game.

2 cups and don't think twice about it.

This is such a millennial thread, lol.

Wording is odd.

If you mean go to the finals 10 straight years, but only win once, vs. winning twice and missing the playoffs the other eight, I'd take winning twice

Losing the final 9 straight years would be brutal.

If you mean make the playoffs 10 straight years, but only win once (sometimes losing in the first round, sometimes the second, maybe once or twice in the finals itself) vs. winning twice and missing the playoffs the rest, that's a harder choice but....

I'd still take two cups over one.

I would have so much time to do shit the other 8 years instead of go 2 months with this sense of dread and inevitable disappointment plus I wouldn't have to worry about disappointing my kid when they ask if I'll be home that night or is there hockey. Sign me up for 2 Cups.
