Then and there
If/when Olympics go ahead later this summer, there will be some pretty good matches / players included.

Brazil announced their squad, I wonder has there ever been an older player then Dani Alves in the Olympics.

Brazil squad:
Goalkeepers:
Santos (Athletico PR), Brenno (Gremio)
Defenders: Dani Alves (Sao Paulo), Gabriel Menino (Palmeiras) Guilherme Arana (Atletico), Nino (Fluminense), Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal), Diego Carlos (Sevilla)
Midfielders: Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa), B. Guimaraes (Lyon), Matheus Henrique (Gremio), Gerson (Flamengo), Claudinho (Red Bull Braga)
Forwards: Malcom (FC Zenit), Antony (Ajax), Paulinho (Bayer Leverkusen), Matheus Cunha (Hertha Berlin), Pedro (Flamengo)

Some rumblings that LFC do not want Salah doing both the Olympics and AFCON. Developing situation. Can understand both sides

Very curious to see who we send. Figure the u21s that won the euros will make up the spine of the team...with Wirtz & Baku leading the way again if allowed. Wonder if Musiala can join them if he doesn't play at the Euros?

Udoukhai is rumored to be included, and hopefully, Geiger gets an invite as well.

I think Torunarigha is eligible as well, but the CBs could be set already with the u21 kids & Udoukhai. Katterbach should also be eligible, but with Jakobs & Raum having been on the euro-winners, they may opt for continuity over increasing the competition.

Some notables missing but this is a strong team. Not sure how it matches up with the other teams but they could go far

well we are better than all those teams. we are ranked 18 for a reason. but im not saying sweden should have a spot. where is belgium, italy etc.
Where does this arrogance come from? South Korea & Mexico have consistently been better than you over the past two decades. Australia has been on par with you.

And if you wanted to be there over Romania, you should've done better than them at the u21 euros; the qualification process from UEFA is pretty straightforward.

u do realise we beat south korea and mexico in 2018 wc? they have not been better than us for years.

again, i did not say sweden should be there. do you really think this olympics would not have been more fun with teams such as belgium, croatia, italy etc instead of honduras, saudia arabia and new zeeland?

Yes. Do you realize that 2018 isn't the only tournament that has happened over the past 20 years?

What about the difference between something happenning "over" the past two decades & something happening "for" the past two decades? Is that getting lost in translation or where you intentionally misrepresenting what I said?

And not really. The Olympics aren't about having the best NTs in the world cup face each other, that's what the World Cup is for. The olympics are about having U23 teams from all around the world playing together & showing where the game is heading in their nations. If you want to watch Belgium, Italy, etc., then you could've watched the U21 euros that just ended or the ongoing euros.

sweden was not worse than mexico in wc 2002. in euros 2004 we did great and almost beat out the dutch. wc 2006 we made qf, as did mexico but not korea. how exactly where mexico and korea better than us during 2002-2008? we had players such as zlatan, ljungberg, henrik larsson...

why dont mexico and argentina include more players from europe? some big names missing from their own leagues aswell.

its like they dont take this tournament serious. i wish only nations who took this tournament serious would be in.

btw apperently france named a 80-man preliminary squad on 2 March. but i could not find anything. anyone have the names?
