is there a reason why Slava Kozlov was not invited to the russian team?
The official version as said by Krikunov is "I really do not know this player" which is kinda strange since he played in the RSL and its Krikunov's job to know players potentially going to the Olympics.
Slava Kozlov is doing great this season: he may not be the best player, but Kovalchuk certainly likes him. He is easily Russia's #4-#6 left winger (ahead of Kharitonov even maybe but behind Korolyuk in terms of actualy quality in my personal opinion) so its not surprising he didn't make the final team.
What was (more) suprising yet not really suprising at the same time is that he wasn't included in the perliminary roster. SLava refused to play for Russia at past Olympics (1998 for example) and since he wasn't a superstar like Zubov that we needed: he was punished for it. There is some doubt even if he would play if selected.
A stranger omission from the preliminary roster was Kvasha, Yashin was upset about that one.
