Ohlund-Norstrom
Backstrom-Havelid
Tjarnqvist

Guess you mean Bäckman and not Bäckström. Other than that I think your pairings look good, I would use the following pairings though:

Lidström - Norström
Öhlund - Jönsson
Bäckman - Hävelid
Tjärnqvist

Replace Niemi with Berg and put Lydman in the 3rd pairing with Berg and Nummelin in the 2nd with Numminen. Lydman is much better in his own end than Nummelin.

And thanks, I just used my best judgement

For Switzerland :

Streit - Keller
Seger - Steinegger
Blindenbacher - Bezina
Vauclair

But Vauclair might miss the games and be replaced by Forster or Hirschi (I'd take Hirschi over Bezina anyway)

I doubt Chelios will be the 7th defenseman considering he is the U.S Captain

I'd put them like this
Chelios-Schneider
Rafalski-Hatcher
Liles-Hedican
Leopold (only because he isn't playing so great this year according to his own coach)

I'm almost positive that blake and foote will be paired together. They have been at the previous two olympics, and have only been on the ice for 2 goals against in both combined olympics. That's stunning.

Yeah I thought that, but I figure Foote would need someone with really good speed paired with him, because he's not the fleetest of foot (not that he's slow) on the international ice surface

No one has any problem with these pairs I came up with???
Jimmy I've got a real problem with this!! Just kidding , looked like you were hoping someone would pick you apart. I've got to say I'm curious to see if Foote /Blake works out. Foote and Blake have both been a bit ragged this year so the jury is out. For Latvia I belive Ozolinsh and Ignatjevs are both out. Maybe a Latvian poster can confirm this. If Bob Nardella is in Italy's top pairing , they are in more trouble than I thought. Not a bad effort Jimmy.

For Russia,
A.Markov-D.Markov
Gonchar-Volchenkov
Tyutin-Kasparitis (Rangers' connection)
Kulyash-Vishnevsky

..and try not to use the last pair!

:madfire:

You know absolutely nothing about Finnish hockey.

You shouldn't be allowed to include anything about Finland in any of your posts, again.

Good one, yet I would rather have

A. Markov - Volchenkov
Gonchar - D. Markov

Volchenkov is such a force on the blue line, he would compliment greatly A. Markov's offence

Yup, Nik usually plays with Norström in the big tournaments.

God how I miss Johnsson, Ragnarsson and Kronwall...
