New York Islanders - John Tavares - Franchise Player and Marketing Dream for an Islanders team desperate for money.

2 Tampa Bay Lightning - Victor Hedman - Consensus No.2 choice compared to Pronger without a mean streak.

3 Colorado Avalanche - Matt Duschene - A solid skater and perfect guy to replace Joe Sakic as the Av's No.1 Center of the future.

4 Atlanta Thrashers - Evander Kane - Good size, loves to play the body is amazing with the puck, perfect guy to center Kovalchuk for years to come. Also had an amazing workout combine and WJC.

5. Los Angeles Kings - Brayden Schenn - Complete center adds to an already impressive core of centers in LA. Would like to grab a defenceman or a scoring winger but in the end Schenn is just to hard to pass on. ** Potentially could trade down with Toronto and recieve a mid round pick or prospect in return.

6. Phoenix Coyotes - Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Excellent skater with the offensive skills to compliment it. Is no stranger to the pro game as he already played in the Swedish Elite League and posted good numbers for an eighteen year old.

7. Toronto Maple Leafs - Jared Cowen - The Leafs draft Cowen knowing he plays a solid defensive game and has a bit of offense in his arsenal. Plays a very intimidating game something Burke loves in a defenceman such as when he had Pronger in Anaheim. Had it not be for Cowen's season ending injury this year he could have jumped into Toronto's lineup immediately.

8. Dallas Stars - Dmitry Kulikov - His style of play is very similar to a fellow defenceman, Segei Zubov of the Stars and who better to mentor him then well, Sergei Zubov

9. Ottawa Senators - Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson - With Dany Heatley leaving town the Senators look to make it two years in a row drafting a Swede in the first round. He has great speed and moves to freeze defenders but his finishing ability has been questioned. The Sens take MPS knowing that another fellow Swede Daniel Alfredsson can mentor him and teach him the NA before his time is over.

10. Edmonton Oilers - Scott Glennie - Fast, great hands and scoring ability who is a gritty player. Better yet he has size something the Oilers need in their Top 6.

11. Nashville Predators - Jordan Schroder - Has shown chemistry with last year's first round pick, Colin Wilson in past international competitions and they also like the fact that he is a great offensive threat and is also responsible defensively. Also remember the last time team's passed up on a center from college they thought to be undersized. Yeah Zach Parise followed that up with a 94 point campaign this year.

12. - Minnesota Wild - Jacob Josefson - The Wild grab a great two-way player in Josefson who also has great hands and great playmaking abilities. He sees the ice and plays well in traffic because he is an excellent stickhandler. With Koivu, Josefson and Gillies they have three solid centres for the future.

13. Buffalo Sabres - John Moore - The Sabres grab Moore in hopes that him and Myers can form a solid top pairing for the future. Moore has been labeled as a world class skater and is poised with the puck. He also has started to improve upon his physicality this year.

14. Florida Panthers - Simon Despreses- The Panthers grab Despres despite everything thinking this guy is going late round. Especially with Bouwmeester leaving they grab a defenceman who has been compared to him and is a solid pro prospect. He is very solid defensively and can chip in with a few points from the back end something the Panthers are looking for in this draft.

15. Anaheim Ducks - Zack Kassian - Albeit a few years later the Ducks find their replacement for power forward Dustin Penner although Kassian has more potential and offensive capabilities. Anaheim also likes to be an intimidating team and adding a 6'3 210 right winger with a willingness to drop the gloves to Getzlaf's wing it does just that.

16 Columbus Blue Jackets - Ryan Ellis - The Blue Jackets take a gamble on this undersized D-man from Windsor and hope he continutes the trend of scoring wherever he plays. Also has a great shot and can QB the PP could turn out to be a steal if he continues his scoring trend.

17 St. Louis Blues - Nazem Kadri - My slider of the draft. Kadri struggled against other top caliber talent this year and I think that may scare some teams away. He also needs to add weight to his 6'0 167 pound frame if he wants to be a top player in the NHL some day. It's also tough to tell whether this kid is underrated or overrated but in a few years time I guess we will find out.

18 Montreal Canadiens - Chris Kreider - They passed on Esposito last year and I have a feeling they pass on Leblanc to. Hometown prospects just can't handle the intense spotlight in Montreal (ex. Latendresse). Instead they grab Kreider who fits their style as a fast and quick player with exceptional playmaking ability. Also has decent size.

19 New York Rangers - Louis Leblanc - With the Rangers lack of a true No.1 center prospect they grab Leblanc for his great vision, hands and competetiveness. Also has a strong work ethic. Also with him going the college route they have a few years for him to fill out and develop while Gomez and Drury take the draws. Very good guys to mentor him once he is deemed NHL ready also.

20 Calgary Flames - David Rundblad - The Flames grab Rundblad for his great shot and being a smart player. This kid could be another shooting specialist on their PP along with Dion Phaneuf. He just needs to learn to be more physical but what better way to learn that than in Calgary with the Battles of Alberta being some of the most physical games.

21 Philadelphia Flyers - Carter Ashton - While Philly needs a goalie there is none they think is good enough to grab a first round pick with and instead grab Carter Ashton the son of Brent Ashton. He brings a physical presence to a team that lives and dies by playing physical. He also drives the net hard to pick up rebounds and don't be surprised if his dad has gave him a few pointers about playing in the NHL.

22 Vancouver Canucks - Calvin De Haan - With no top pairing defenceman in their system IMO I think the Canucks go with De Haan who has great hockey sense,a great and passing ability. Also has amazing poise and patience for a kid his age.

23. New Jersey Devils - Jordan Caron - The Devils grab Caron who is not a flashy player but still puts up his fair share of points. The Devils grab him in hopes he keeps driving the net hard looking to score. Caron also is very dependable and plays his position well.

24. Washington Capitals - Landon Ferraro - The Capitals grab Ferraro hoping to get a goal scoring No.2 for the future. Won the Fastest Skater competition at the 2009 CHL Top Prospects game. Ferraro is also excellent defensively. If he goes on to have a career anything like his dad's look for this kid to be a steal.

25. Boston Bruins - Drew Shore - The Bruins who have been getting recognition for being a physcial team grab Shore to add to that. He creates offense off of his hard work and determination to get the puck on his stick. He works the boards well and never gives up until he has the puck.

26 New York Islanders (from San Jose) - Stefan Elliot - The Islanders grab Elliot as he is a solid two-way defenceman who can put up points and has decent size. Stefan is also a great PP quarterback and could learn from one of the best in Mark Streit.

27. Carolina Hurricanes - Peter Holland - The Canes grab Holland because he is a big and physical player with good offensive instincts. He skates very well for a big guy and has a great shot and could be a great second line center behind Eric Staal for years to come.

28. Chicago Blackhawks - Tim Erixon -With very few weaknesses in their system the Hawks grab Erixon in hopes that he can QB their PP for years to come. He is a solid two way defenceman with decent size. His dad Jan also played over 500 games in the NHL so don't be surprised if his dad has gave him a few pointers about the NA game.

29. Detroit Red Wings - Kyle Palmieri - The Red Wings grab this kid who has often been compared to Chris Drury. He has the ability to set up a goal or score it and is also a good two-way player something the Detroit organization values. With him going the college route the Red Wings have lots of time to watch this kid develop and get better before inserting him into the lineup on a regular basis.

30. Pittsburgh Penguins - Jeremy Morin - The Pens grab Morin in hopes that some day he can show off why he is considered the best pure shooter in this draft outside of Tavares on Sidney Crosby's line. Morin is also considered to have the best one-timer in the draft.

Let me know what you guys think. Comments are appreciated!

Good choices here, but I think the Devils will pick Holland or Erixon if they are available and more so than Caron.
