It's very like you to only see that side of the argument krutov, I can imagine who will "like" you post too.

i am a past veteran of not being allowed by other posters to express simple eye test opinions about players here that differ from orthodoxy, so i have plenty of sympathy for your original dilemma if you hadn't made such a meal of it. you were off topic and the unsupported opinion that you liked a rival team's underperforming draft pick better than our underperforming draft pick who currently has better stats was a decidedly hot take obviously intended to provoke people. kind of weak sauce to lash out and profess outrage and derail a thread when people responded just as you knew they would.

call it two minutes for embellishment if you like.

Do you think what I said was out of line?

Why aren't you talking to jimbo who brought up Bennett to begin with?

Lash out? I guess we have different opinions of lashing out too. I made a post to jimbo57's offtopic bennett post, his response was "of course you do", then he went on a multi post tirade about a shtick and a pedestal.

Nice to see OJ bakc in the lineup tonight.

just noticed this and it makes me sad. take the hint from dhaliwal guys. when a reporter says it's time to respect the privacy of a public figure then it is time to let it go for a while.

These two thoughts dont seem congruent, I guess they arent related. Not sure why Benning didnt say from the beginning it was a hip problem.

My take is...the reason it was all hush hush, is with the knee they jumped the gun and said it was not bad and it turned into being terrible. So this time when he had a sore hip they didn't want to make the same mistake and look bad in the media again. Also I would speculate that the reason so many specialists saw OJ is he got his own outside opinion and that is best kept quiet. And also make sure it was not a complication of the knee surgery. I guess that what Dahliwal was saying was that they are taking good care of OJ but things have been much quieter then is normal (even inside info), and that leads to a little speculation.

All I know is that OJ playing in the NHL is the biggest thing Jimbo wants in order to spackle up that gaping hole in his drafting legacy. I think management will take every precaution they need before he suits up for his first game. And it will happen, just hope it's deserved/justified.

It's quite subjective whether he was a doomed prospect before all the injuries. Between his stale D+1 with the knights, bad goalie giving us gloomy news about his defensive game in Utica, fortnitegate, to Salo praising him in Finland, I really just want to see the kid play in a Canuck uniform so I can get some closure on this whole depressing slogging-to-Mordor like saga. I still hold out hope that he has a #4 ceiling. His IQ and passing should take him that far if he shores up his defensive reads and learns to keep himself healthy.

Wrong fantasy movie my friend.

Jim Benning is "Hawke the slayer" and Mike Gillis is his evil brother "Voltan":

Vancouver - Coal Harbour
Hadn't popped into this thread for while (go tired of wading thru the same suspects reciting "But he was the wrong pic!") but pleasantly surprised to hear that his injury wasn't quite the catastrophe myself (and the rest of us) were assuming. The lack of communication had me thinking "Uh ohhhh" but hopefully they were just being extremely cautious (warranted considering his history).

As an optimist I still hold out hope that he can be a top 4 guy - that isn't outside of the realm of possibility. He has to stay healthy in order for this to be remotely feasible but I still tend to think he has the tools in order to make it to the show. Before his injury it at least sounded like he wasn't quite as allergic to contact as he has previously (that and his lack of battle level and defensive awareness being probably the biggest concerns about his game that I've heard).

Would be absolutely MASSIVE for our team if he could ever become a top 4 guy we don't have a ton of promise on D that's currently outside of the NHL (Trymkin is a lock to come back and get a 5/6 role IMO but still.......top 4 talent is lacking).

You seem really upset. I mean you've been here less than a year and screaming that the board is ruined and the board is being destroyed?

Anyhow. Back to Juolevi, I suppose that hip soreness is quite common result of having to recover from a knee injury.
[MOD] Nice to see juolevi back and producing

I didn’t realize “pot head” was a mean thing to say. His name is 420 so he/ she is probably comfortable with marijuana usage. Anyways, my apologies 420 and Ronning on Empty

That is the key.

1) Stay healthy
2) Learn to play NHL level D (this can be learned to some degree)

As you said, he's already has the offensive skills. The rest is up to him (and luck - re: being injury free).

Juolevi, back when he was drafted, used to have great mobility. This hip problem is proving to be a potential career killer.

Hopefully he can find a real solution. Not just for the Canucks sake.

Of all the injuries Juolevi has gone through, the hip issue he apparently has would have to be the most alarming. But then Jesse Puljujarvi had surgery on both hips, so I guess it's an injury you can recover from.

But when you lump it in with all the other injuries, the knee surgery, the back surgery and now this. Just not looking like his body will ever enable to play in the NHL.

I'm no doctor but I wonder if the hip problem is just a consequence of the knee injury he suffered earlier (I *think* often one suffers some sort of hip ailments when recovering from a knee injury). I would assume his knee is ok now, and his hip will recover as well.

ummm... what did you just make me watch?
Pure 80s cheese.
