Ok, so what if we win...what happens for next year?

There is no progress until we beat Boston. No fan should be satisfied with beating CBJ then losing to Boston again, no fan should settle for doing our best to avoid Boston either. But of course this summer we found out we can't avoid them. Every year we fail, there should be more expectation and less patience from us.
The results will be the same whether the fans have ‘more expectations’ or more ‘patience’.

Yes. But it is a fact that there is no legitimate progress until we beat Boston. After 2 game 7 upsets in a row after a very promising series against the caps in 2017, and before that one of the worst comebacks against us ever, there is no actual progress until we beat Boston.

We saw fans on here before we knew the 2020 playoff schedule talking about how avoiding Boston in round 1 and finally getting a series win is a victory. It really wouldn't of been.

Based on your logic they could win the cup, not play Boston and there would be no progress made because they didn't beat Boston

My point is we shouldn't have this defeatist mindset of "man we keep getting owned by this team, gotta avoid them". We should be hungry to beat them now more than ever, the same way Washington finally beat out Pittsburgh in a series.

Couldn't care less who they beat if they win the cup
