There is no changing that this team sucks though. We absolutely struggled to compete with an AHL team for 2 periods.

Hopefully this isn't exactly like the Jersey game where all the media and Eakins think that this is the great turnaround haha

Funny how Dubnyk has suddenly started playing better since the Bryz signing. Who says a little competition isn't healthy?

Glad I stayed away from this from a gambling perspective.

Late in the 2nd period, i was looking at the live odds for playnow.com, which is bc lottery's online sportsbook, and the Oilers were at 8.50 odds to win the game(including s/o). Of course with the way they had been playing who would have any confidence in them pulling it out with those odds.

Hey guys,

I figured out what the problem is! I was watching the hockey game and decided to take a quick break in the third to go in the other room to grab a snack. Needless to say the oilers instantly scored as soon as I left the room. I told my girlfriend that the hockey gods wanted a sacrifice and she was quick to point out that it was a fluke. Anyways I bet her that the oilers would keep on scoring and win the game if I remained in the other room and stopped watching while the rest of my friends and family watched.

Needless to say, I won the bet and the hockey gods are real.

You're welcome oil country. I'll remain in the shadows and look away next game as well.

Battle of the toilet Bowl and the Oilers play well enough for 30 minutes to win.

I'll take it. :handclap:

Very strong game by Dubnyk...hopefully he gets his due for this performance.

Pretty much complete domination of the Flames in the third, especially by Hall's line.

No excuses guymez. Oilers played last night and totally outworked them.

Hall made Baertschi look like a pylon. I imagine he'll be a healthy scratch next game.

Hope Stempniak has a good dental plan to get his teeth put back in. That was the biggest beatdown of a Flame since MacIntyre destroyed Ivanans.

Good game tonight.

Good game tonight.

They played well for half a game. Thats a nice start but there is a missing 30 minutes they need to find.

That said I will take any win over the Flames.

The Stempniak fight was meh...Stempniak isnt a fighter at all.

Dubs was strong.

Perron was strong.

I also thought Smyth had his best game of the season.

At this point I'd take 40 minutes. That would be twice as much as tonight.

This is true, but the ultimate goal is 60 minutes.

I have to say that I really think I saw something click and it started to begin the 3rd. Guys started faking out the Flamers on the forecheck with where they were going to go with the puck and it just helps so much with extra time to make a play instead of - wait for it - throwing it up the boards. I've seen the Oilers wrap the puck around the boards for years and it DOES NOT work.

Just happy that we got the win and I can go to bed with a smile on my face for once :)

Hell yes we'll take those two points.

Finally the Oilers got some luck tonight. Finally it was the guy at the other end giving up the unbelievable goal from behind the goal line. Finally the team managed to keep the accelerator pinned for at least the last ten minutes and close out the win.

Props to Dubnyk. He made one big pad save there when it was 2-2 like I haven't seen him make all season long.

I don't care what anyone says, I like Belov. He actually makes guys pay for being around his area. And instead of just backing in and backing in like every Oiler defenceman since 2006 he is actually a threat to step up on somebody at the blueline or at least make a positive stick check before the player gets as low as the top of the circles. He can stick around as far as I'm concerned.

Hopefully the guys who have been eating Eberle alive on this board will take a few days off after his game tonight.
