The problem is Lucic too.

Habs suck, what you gonna do. I think out of all people Edmonton fans should get that 1 player cannot do everything all the time even if they try.
Lucic would actually help a tanking team. Play him in your top 6 and lotto pick guaranteed. ;)
I am not arguing with you re Price being good. I just called out the guy who categorized Talbot as a dump.
Talbot will bounce back and for a team like the Oilers who have big money tied up in forwards cannot afford a 10M long term goalie.

Price, when on, is the best goalie in the world.

But it's 2018. I just don't think any team in the world can afford to pay a goalie that much money. The gap between him and the rest of the group is not worth 3+ million.

Wtf ? Talbot dump, Lucic, dump, Mcloed ? He proved nothing and we have a ****one of mid tier prospect , yes even at center.

It's like Mtl will accept all the money dumping for a prime Carey price, did you even watched the game yesterday ? he made 3 saves of the night.

LMAO you are doomed with lucic and Talbot, enjoy them.

If Talbot is a dump, im not sure what we could call Price.

It's Hilarious to watch Habs fans go "He just had a bad season, he was 3rd in Vezina voting in 2017, hes still great!" Then watch the same ones Call Talbot crap.

Take a look at who finished just beneath Price for Vezina voting in 16-17(by two votes, mind you), then re-visit the thread, if you can swallow your pride.

Talbot is probably the only return I would look at a lot more.
He is interesting but last year he fell down pretty hard, doesn't seem consistent for me, Price had injuries at least.

BUT I still have faith in him.

Mcloed + lucic though are simply a joke for Price.

I dont think Price holds nearly the value a lot of Habs fans think Youre also ignoring the return of Talbot in this deal, so that kinda skews your perception.

If you want to think that Talbot's inconsistency is a concern, im fine with that. But you also need to recognize Price's injury history if youre going to do that.

While Price would make Edmonton a 100x better, don’t think the Oilers would be able to build a team with 32.5m tied to 3 players.

It’s hard to put a value on Carey Price. Honestly, when was the last time an elite goalie was traded in his prime? The closest was when Halak was traded to St-Louis in 2010 (he had a solid run but wasn’t really considered elite) and he went for a 19 years old Lars Eller (11th overall who had played 8 NHL games) and a contract dump. Before that? I’d say Ryan Miller at the TDL and then probably Roy.

In my opinion, it’s as hard to acquire a true elite G#1 then it is to acquire a #1 C/ #1 D.

Price is just too valuable for us to even think about trading him and I believe MB think the same way. We’d probably be stuck in the same situation than Calgary & Philadelphia right now where we would have a good team but Goaltender ruins it all. At least Philly had Hart who could save the day sooner than later

I dont see why Habs would trade Price. They are rebuilding and have a great goalie locked up for eight years, they dont need the cap space...

Price will need to show he's elite again before being value like an elite goalie. I get that the Habs were bad. I get he was playing through injuries, etc But those affect the perception of his value until proven otherwise. I think he can get there, but i think you'd be hard pressed to find any team willing to gamble on it because of the contract. If he doesnt return to elite status, thats one giant pill to swallow.

I agree, If you offered Yamamoto or Bouchard + Talbot + first + cond 3 During the year when Price will show how good he still is, then yes I would really think about that trade.

don't bring the .885. you are clueless. you didn't watch the game or you would know how good price had been.

enjoy Talbot useless year again.
Price at least had excuses in his injuries.

on top of a terrible Talbot, you bring Lucic dump LOOOOOOL do you really believe this is a trade Mtl woudl accept ? seriously...

Talbot + lucic cost us the same as Price. I will keep price
Price is a Vezina,Olympic, world champ. talbot is nothing, Lucic is slow and done.

Why isn't this locked yet ?
it's one of the most trollish dumbish proposition I have seen, all favor towards Edmonton

1 Value is subjective
2 You are calling his proposal trollish and dumbish which isn't even a word . Then you call Talbot garbage pot meet kettle .
3 Price has a bad year he still great , Lucic has a 1/2 a bad year and he worthless cap dump . Maybe Lucic doesn't rebound but Price's contract is terrible and will hurt a team long after Lucic is gone .

As an Oilers fan, this may sound crazy to you Hab fans....I wouldn't trade Lucic straight across for Price.

Price is signed til 2026...yes thats 2026!! that is crazy and his cap hit is 75% higher that Lucic.

Meh I would be very tempted to do this sweeten the pot a bit and make it 2019 1st & 2020 1st

Montreal could add back or id even take another medium cap dump on top of Lucic to get that other pick :naughty:

Time to throw the toaster into the bathtub that is the Habs right now

I think youd be hard pressed to find the Oilers offering that much for Price.

If Price becomes elite again, Montreal wont move him.
If Price doesnt become elite again, Montral cant move him.
