What is the correct info?

The trade thread shows that Rads signed with some KHL club which is absolutely false and confirmed in separate tweets following the Friedman tweet. The owner and GM of the team that supposedly signed him have also replied that they had NOT signed him.

Meanwhile each response in the thread is of the kind "good, he doesn't belong" "no nhl club wanted him. " etc

The GM of Ufa had no idea what anyone was talking about, his own agent has said he's not signed anywhere. Nothing has changed with him. But because Friedman put out some bad info, everyone's jumped to the conclusion that he's signed back in Russia after no one would pay him $7.5M a season or whatever. Seeing as how that's been disproved, the least that could happen would be for the thread title to be updated to reflect it. Ideally, also edit the OP to include the tweets, etc. contradicting Friedman's assertion, including the man himself walking it back.

Elite NHL players (forwards) make 8 to 10 mill a year, i'll say this again and leave it at that. If Radulov was such an elite NHL player like some of you here claim he is, he'd be snatched by now for the 7.5 he's asking. You guys make it sound like Radulov is the best player in the NHL by some of the comments i read.
There are a few different reasons why some teams are Leary of him giving him big money. I highly suspect play legal has very little to do with it.

Obviously someone with some sort of connection to Radulov leaked that to Friedman. The KHL threat is a standard negotiating tool for Russian players. Nothing wrong with using it, even though it's a bit transparent.

That said, it's possible his ego has a salary ceiling and if that's not reached in the NHL he'll take his puck and go home. No one really knows what's going through his mind.

The correct info is nobody knows what's gonna happen. Just because his agent says that Radulov won't go to one specific KHL team because they can't afford him doesn't mean another KHL team won't get him, or he can still sign in the NHL, no one knows. I don't think even Radulov knows where he's gonna play, right now he's most likely still shopping to see who will pay the most money.

Yeah but that would get in the way of some good ole xenophobia

Radulov doesn't seem to have much of a mind, for much of anything to go through.

He may be a hell of a hockey player but the dude is a complete moron. Having your passions rule your entire life may be interesting from a hockey perspective, on the ice, but why let it rule everything else also.

They have just under 22M of space once Grimaldi is sent to the AHL...

And that's counting Stuart's cap hit.

Your "/thread" is premature, in my view.

Figure out how to add Radulov for 6M to this roster, and still roll with at least 22.

^ Trade Mitchell, sign a 4th liner at around 800k and add Radulov at around 5.5

(I dont think it's likely, but it's possible)

Radulov going down from 7.5 to 5.5 is almost impossible specially when he can make alot more in the KHL, maybe he will take 6.5 but I think that's as low as he will go

Glad to know you are in Radulov's inner circle

Nah, I just don't have unrealistic expectations like some of you do. If you think Radulov will go from making 9 or 10 mill to 5.5 and playing for the Avs who aren't going anywhere, keep dreaming

It's so hard to get a read on Radulov. One second he's coming here because he doesn't care as much about money and wants a Cup, but now he's looking for a ridiculous amount of money. Dude is a loose canon and kind of locker room poison. Money may be better spent on Okposo or elsewhere.

Have they even put Stuart on waivers yet? Maybe the public statement on buying him out was one more effort to try and trade him, if they are willing to buy him out I'm sure they would be willing to trade him with a retention.

Still 4 days before ufa, maybe Barrie and mack will come in cheaper, maybe varlamov or by some miracle Varly are traded? And you can go 10% over the cap during the off season so they can buy now and worry later.

Well if he wants a cup why would he join the Avs, specially if the Avs don't pay him what he's asking? If Avs want Radulov they really have to convince him and pay him close to what he wants because the team isn't a cup contender.

Why are we buying out Stuart if it doesn't help towards the cap?

The word is that the relationship between he and the organization is "not good", to say the least. Rumor has it that he did not like being scratched, etc.

Basically, the Organization doesn't seem particularly fond of the idea of him being around anymore. Trading for him, and his subsequent extension, was one of Sakic's worst moves he's made. At the very least he got the picks he traded for him back...so that's something, but the extension itself was...:help:

Makes sense, and his limited 7 team trade list is most likely only championship caliber teams that cannot afford a 3.6 million dollar bum.

I have a feeling Thursday is when Radulov will sign by then avs will have their ufa plan and Radulov will understand the glory of Colorado
