I remember when we first started doing this I was pushing hard for Ufko early on and yet folks resisted the idea, to the point that he ended up never making the list.

Still up in the air w/r/t whether or not he turns out to be an NHLer, but I still feel the need to occasionally I Told You So. :D

Ufko, finally! His WJC was certainly eye-opening. It has been difficult to know what to make of his NCAA numbers, very good, I guess he gets overshadowed by having Morrow around and it being a weaker team at UMass, but they seem to carry the offense, both as right shots, and another smaller RD hasn't exactly been something we've been lacking in the system, so that helps him get overlooked a bit by us, perhaps.

This is where it gets tricky for me. I think either Burke, Ufko or Matier have the best track record but I am intrigued by Kiiskinen as well.

I think people should not be overlooking Wilsby either. Him and Stastney started at the lower end of the pecking order, and they didn't get the offensive assignments, but by the end of the season and in the playoffs they had maybe become the best on the Ads? Stastney got the call and ran with the ball in the NHL, but Wilsby has some similar traits, and I won't be surprised if we hear more about him in the coming season.

Matier has way more potential than both. Is this pill for potential or being nhl ready?
Don’t you be laughing at my Matier comments my friend haha

I feel like Kulonummi was pretty hyped up before.
I feel like it's really hard to judge him... his junior numbers were great and he won the Reijo Ruotsalainen award there for best U20 defenseman, but then Tappara was a powerhouse team (league champs) and had 3 D with over a PPG! But he wasn't selected for the WJC team, unfortunately so it's hard to know where he's at relative to the top guys. Hopefully he plays more in the SM-Liiga next season and in the WJCs, then we'll have a better sense of where he's at.
