Trying to add a bit of levity from a long season. If you were in charge, what are some conditioning regimes that you would assign to Sens players and staff?

For example:

Bobby Ryan - balance lessons
Cody Ceci - improve reaction time
Chris Tierney - shooting drills
GMPD - negotiation techniques

At the end of the day, no one comes to work to fail. I appreciate that everyone tries hard and that the NHL is no easy gig. Still, life is too short if we can't poke a little fun at ourselves. I am new to hfboarfs this year and have enjoyed your comments immensely, to the point where there were a few nights waking up my wife in bed from laughter. Usually it's the other way! :)

Here's to a better season next year and a fantastic playoff this year. Looking forward to your hilarious input. Go Sens Go!

Brady Tkachuk - hit the gym and get bigger, also do some power skating drills, because big is good but big AND faster is amazing.

Thomas Chabot - hit the gym, practice shooting, you'll hopefully continue to be the best d-man on the team next season, and you may need to be the best palyer period.

Mark Borowiecki - hit the gym, including the boxing bags since you're not really good at fighting and that's kind of your job, also stop kissing ass before you get named captain, no offense but you'd be an embarrassment to this team wearing the C.

Pierre Dorion - hit the gym and go back to being a scout, you were actually good at that.

Eugene Melnyk - hit the bricks, pipe down, and sell the team, whatever goodwill you have left in this city is coming from people on your own payroll who have no choice BUT to kiss your ass.

They're just not ready. Nice hair conditioner though.

He needs PR lessons. His negotiations have been excellent.

In what parallel universe is GMPD negotiations excellent? They're not even excellent compared to Chiarelli...

SJ got 3 x the return for Hoffman only days after acquiring him. Our move to deal outside the conference sure was genius there.

Pierre being the GM or an NHL club is living proof that you can't keep promoting someone expecting the same results in more demanding roles that require different skills. He is an excellent scout. No more no less. A used car salesmen would take him to the cleaners in negotiations.

I thought it was two days later, but it was two hours. In any case it's a joke that we got dead weight for the same player SJ got instant value for that was exactly the type of assets we need.
Absolutly

So I guess the Hoffman trade is now "the trade" that everyone is upset about, now that Dahlen has turned into a bust, as predicted by yours truly.

If getting Boedker instead of a 2nd round pick is his worst trade, then that means he's doing a phenomenal job. Look at the huge haul he got for Brassard. We got a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Gustavsson. Then Brassard got traded this season for a sole 3rd. Not to mention a whole bunch of other steals he had.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, Gustavsson >>>>> 3rd

Zibanejad + 2nd > 1st + 2nd + 3rd + Gustavsson > 3rd

Also, if Dahlen is a bust already, half our prospect pool are busts.

Boedeker is so pathetic he was healthy scratched on one of the worst teams iced since the lock out. We traded a 30 goal scorer for a pile of crap. Why are you shrugging this off as no biggy? Just because we fluked out not giving Hughes/Kakko to COL?

Brass got a good return but as already stated Zbad is still more valuable. Let's hear the other "steals" on PD resume? Is Karlsson getting shipped out with no return 1st also a steal?

Well....let's see.....the Dzingel trade looks pretty good so far. Too early to call it a steal though.

Just this season alone:
Dzingel for Duclair and two 2nds -> Duclair is better, younger, cheaper AND we get two 2nd round picks?!!?
Wideman for a 6th -> Wideman went on waivers a month later
6th for Nilsson -> Nilsson a solid backup
Sieloff for Gibbons -> Gibbons has been amazing

Not to mention all the bullets we've dodged due to Dorion's ability to project the decline of key players:
-We dumped Turris early, he was a healthy scratch on year one of his brand new 6x6 contract! OUCH! Makes Bobby Ryan's contract look good.
-We dumped Phaneuf early. Unloaded his huge contract along with Thompsons' while taking almost nothing back. Phaneuf was also a healthy scratch this season
-We dumped Brassard early. Got a nice haul back. Was also a healthy scratch this season, then was traded twice.
-Even Hoffman is on the block right now and Florida is trying to unload him. There's obviously more to the story with this guy. Let's see what return Florida will get for him. San Jose was only able to get a 2nd round pick for him.
-Karlsson remains to be seen, but injuries appear to have been a problem with him this season, and he's getting awfully close to 30. I mean, Dylan DeMelo has more goals than him! Will he re-sign with San Jose? If not, that's a steal for us.

The Dzingle return seems like fair value. This should be the benchmark for a trade. The benchmark is so insanely low that it does seem like a steal based on fan expectations.

Trade Ceci, waive Smith, ECHL for Borowiecki. Can't do much on Ryan. Fire Dorion and replace Crawford with new coach... Most importantly... Need a top 4 dman badly
