Who are the Flames' WJC representatives? I kmnow not all the roster cuts have been made, but a preliminary list:

Hickey
McDonald
Ollas-Mattsson

Anyone else?

With all the NCAA scouting Calgary's done in the last few seasons, I'm surprised/sad to learn that there isn't even a single USA representative for this year's WJC.

However, I mostly end up cheering for country first, then local club, so as long as the boys bring home the gold it's all good. :)

Based on what I saw Hickey will be on the team. He seems to be a 5/6 guy but he also seems like Canada's #1 pk D.

McKenzie also just said he was pretty much a shoe in to make the team.

Personally I would cut Lauzon, Juulsen and Hawryluk and Merkley. Juulsen is a pretty tough call but I'd say its between him and Dermott.

I see something along the lines of:

Crouse - Strome - Marner
Perlini - Point - Virtanen
Quenneville - Stephens - Konecny
Chartier - Beauvillier - Gauthier
Barzal

Fleury - McKeown
Chabot - Hicketts
Sanheim - Hickey
Dermott

Blackwood
McDonald

Barzal can fill in at center if Point's injury ends up being to bad, plus his high end skill can be injected as needed. McDonald is going to get a strong chance to run with the starters position with the first game against the States since Blackwood is suspended for first two games.

Hickey has made Team Canada and will be the only NCAA player on the Canadian roster. McDonald is also in. Good luck to them in the tournament!
