Good for him. He may be an ass on the radio but he is much different in a role like this as well as in person.

People need to look past the schtick with both Felger and Mazz. Both are incredibly knowledgeable and when they aren’t acting like idiots, are quite likable.

Exactly.

They're professional trolls for entertainment purposes. But Felger is an experienced sports reporter with credentials across all the major sports, and Mazz is one of the elite baseball journalists in the country. They just build themselves up as a-holes on the radio to get ratings and make themselves the villains.

The Boston sports radio battle was no contest at all in the spring ratings period.

In the men 25-54 demographic, The Sports Hub (98.5) finished first overall in the spring Nielsen Audio Ratings with a huge 15.2 share.
The Sports Hub’s morning drive, midday, and afternoon drive programs finished first in their respective time slots in the period from April 1-June 23, as did the daily Baseball Hour. Its evening programming was second.

WEEI (93.7) was nowhere close, finishing tied for sixth overall with WBUR (4.2 share).

Kathryn Tappen just had the rug pulled out from under her at NBC.

Maria Taylor heading to NBC

Where does it say that Maria Taylor is taking her job? Also, I've seen nothing that says Michael Felger is the sports director, just that he's got the new Sunday night show.

WBTS is merging NBC Sports Boston staff into NBC 10 - Felger now gets the prime slots

KT was earmarked to host Sunday Night Football, Notre Dame, and a prime Olympics spot..... now suddenly poof

But where does it say that she isn't going to do those things? Where does it say that she isn't doing the Olympics? Maybe time will tell and you know more that we do.

NBC's sports inventory is now limited ( they are closing down NBCSN in December ) Taylor will get all the high-profile slots.

So is KT left without a chair re: ESPN/TNT?

Does she get scooped up by a RSN?

KT thought she was in good shape at NBC and enjoys living in Manhattan.

Liam McHugh seems to have the TNT studio host job locked up and ESPN is using existing staff.

NBC studios in Stamford have purged the walls of anything involving the NHL and KT is associated with hockey and that is unfair. Rebecca Lowe is a favorite with management so that compounds things.

KT and the rest of the talent was told NOT to mention Jeremy Roenick and Mike Milbury and she felt she had to give thanks to Milbury which I feel was the right thing to do but.....

No RSN is going to come close to paying her what NBC has been - in theory, she could replace Dale at NESN but it would be for the same money he has gotten. It is DA's call if he wants to return.

Agreed. Dale brings very little to the table during the in between period shows. I doubt KT would come back though.
It’s easier when no paycheck is coming in. NESN is a career step for the rising professionals. Did I say that correctly?

So I ditched cable a while back and only do steaming services. I’m looking ahead to next season and just want to be able to watch every Bruins game. What/how many streaming service do I need? YouTube TV doesn’t have NESN. Fubo doesn’t have TNT. Now I’m hearing some games will ONLY be on ESPN+. Why the hell is this so complicated? Thanks, Gary.
