How's Mikhail Yunkov (spelling, Caps property) looking? Is he doing alright in the RSL now (if he is there full time) and what's the projection some are feeling might occur?

How is Denis Parshin doing? :dunno:

Surprisingly, he has been very impressive - him, Alexander Nikulin, and Shirokov really hit it off and are on absolute fire. For a line consisting of two 20 year olds and a 21 year old: their play has been astouding. Shirokov has 16 points and Parshin has 15 in 18 games, which is good enough to be 11th and 12th (tied with several other for this spot) in RSL scoring respectively! :amazed:

Consider Bykov is CSKA's coach - the whole line just might see some senior national team action. Alexander Nikulin is somewhat of a regular on the 4th line or in the pressbox, and Shirokov played a few pre-Olympics exhibition games last year on the 4th "kid" line... and if Bykov decides to have a young gun line like the first stage of the Eurotour and Krikunov last year; it would only make sense for Parshin to take Lemtyugov's place instead of someone like Shkotov on account of the already present chemistry.

Its hard to say since he is playing in a very limited 4th line role on a team primarily centered around one line, and decreasingly reliant on its subsequent lines. Something noteworthy is that he is currently getting less icetime than a 16 year old in Kirill Petrov ;) . Nevertheless, cracking the Ak Bars roster is an impressive feat in itself, and while I don't expect much of a future for Yunkov and his also recently drafted linemates in Mikhail Zhukov and Andrei Mikhnov (apart from becoming solid RSLers checkers/supporting offensive players) - Lisin did manage to find his way onto a scoring line in Phoenix from Kazan's 3rd line with nothing but a 2 game layover in the AHL.

how's nikolai kulemin looked?

Well its 17 games into the season and he is already 1 point shy of his point totals from last year (granted Kulemin only played 30 games last year). He has continued to progress, and although playing with Marek probably inflates his stats a little bit, he has proven that he was not reliant on an awsome player such as Malkin for his offensive production. He continues to impress in both club and national team (although he did play a smaller role in the first stage of the Eurotour), and is well on his way to becoming one of the better players in the RSL.

How's Kirill Koltsov looking guys? If he decides to come over next season, how many points do you think he's capable of putting up? Also, with his current level of skill, where would you slot him from #1-6 in the average NHL depth chart?

Thanks!

Has any defenseman ever averaged a PPG in the RSL? just curious because Koltsov has 15 pts in 15 games so far :D

Over a full season, Fetisov comes to mind off the top of my head... I don't recall it being done since Soviet times. Afterall, a point per game in the RSL would usually make you one of the elite forwards in the league, if not the scoring champion. Koltsov is truly comming into his own and making a case for himself as the best defenseman in the RSL. Yet to be fair, while having the best PPG, he is only tied for 2nd in scoring amongst defensemen. ;) In terms of his NHL outlook, due to the unavoidable adjustment period he would most likely start off as a bottom pairing powerplay specialist. Establishing himself in the top 4 would probably be achieved sometime within his first season. I am a poor judge of eventual upside, but I think superb #2 - #3 primarily offensive guy is Koltsov' possible final destination.

I'd be shocked if Koltsov can keep this pace up as a 23 year old. He'd probably be the youngest dman to achieve that

I see him reaching maybe 10 pts below pt per game pace when all is said and done.

Thanks information

I'm happy to hear he's doing fine, finally. :)

How much did Kulemin play with Malkin last season?
Also, with additional teams in Russia's top league this season, I assume there is a dilution of talent...is the league overall more high scoring than last season?
Thanks in advance...

OK, now that I've been chastised for circumventing this thread...

Can anyone provide a link to any current, up-to-date stats of Konstantin Barulin? Even if they're in Cyrillic, I can probably figure out the context.

We need a good link to Barulin's stats for our prospect sticky on the Blues' board.

Also, any word on wether or not he's interested in coming over to North America?

Thanks,

P_B

Thanks for that link; I've been looking for that site again. It's good for the Blues' other Russian prospects, like Nikitin, Alexandrov, Pervyshin (man, I wish he was 20 cm taller and 20 kg heavier...) and Lemtyugov...

Unfortunately, all it provides for Barulin is his scoring stats. I'm not really interested in his assists, or penalty minutes. I'm assuming that a "-13" for goalies means that he's had 13 goals scored against him, but I'd really like to find something a little more descriptive.

Thanks,

P_B

Now that the Ottawa Senators have decided to move him to the AHL B Sens. Have you guys heard any news that he is going back to Metallurg Magnitogorsk?
