Welcome to the 2019-2020 HF Habs Official GDT Signup Schedule Thread!​

Another season is upon us and just like our young guns, it's time to flex our creative skills! From legends such as Moen in Glory to Roy Munson to creative minds such as Runner77 and sandviper, GDTs are a key staple to our board. But you don't need to be an expert in photoshop or even technology to do a GDT! From MS Paint to old fashion hand draw and scan, all ideas are encouraged! That said there are some holy commandments that predate my GDT tenure so please note them.

The Holy HF Habs Commandments
​

1- Request 1 game at a time. There are enough games for everyone.
2- Try your best to post your GDT 6/12 hours before game time.
e.g. If game starts at 7PM ET, post your thread between midnight and noon. For afternoon games, try posting it the night before. If no GDT is up at 1PM, it becomes available.
3- If you can not post your GDT on time, please let us know ASAP, so we can find someone else to do it.
4- Please add a minimum of helpful content to your GDT. Team Lineups, starting goalies, Official game time, TV/radio broadcasts, etc. We all like minimalistic or "lucky" GDTs once in a while, but it's good to offer other posters basic info about the game
5- Be creative!
This thread is also open for ideas, suggestions or questions concerning GDTs and how to make them.

Welcome back everyone! The season is upon us which means it is time for GDTs! Last year was the Year of the Runner, with Runner77 doing a great job stepping up and doing a number of GDTs. Just as the future is bright with the Habs, I can't wait to see if we have any newcomers to the GDT crew. From MS Paint to hand writing and scanning, there are no skills or expertise needed for putting together a great GDT!

Question: Could I create a GDT with a thread rule(s) to be respected by fellow Habs fans throughout the entire game?
Example: Game 3 of the season
1. Can't use more than three words per sentence for the entirety of the first period.

I love the idea of limiting words in formulating thoughts. Could lead to some interesting posts.

I've seen Jimmy Fallon use a similar concept in one of his recent hashtag segments.



Maybe we should do a thread like that -- six words to describe the Habs, Bergevin, Julien or Molson.

Innovated it’s GDT(s) with thread rule(s)... Sounds great why not. Like before the game starts. As limitation of words like you mentioned. As describing somehow with a gif/ meme/ image/ video. As and as etc. The ideas must be directly putted on the GDT.

You won't get everyone to agree and that's OK.

I would suggest six words per post as it allows to formulate a semi-coherent thought. And you can afford to name the player you're talking about with one of those 6 words, which is important since plays move quickly and whoever one is talking about now can be eclipsed in a manner of seconds.

I'd go with a per post word limit rather than a per sentence so as to avoid clutter and confusion.

Your call but great idea for a concept.

I think it's a cool idea. You may not get buy in from everyone as Runner said but I think its worth a try and I bet a majority of people will try to stick to it, at least for the pre season.

Pretty much done. Didn’t go for a self- defecating GDT this time around, since team is doing ok I guess and want to keep positive vibes. Just waiting on final line-ups before posting.

Bolded a hint

Just wrapping it up now. It was originally attempted for the opening night game but I ran into a lot of issues figuring out how to use some new software.

Not my best work both humour-wise and creativity, but this was easily the hardest thing from a technical standpoint I have ever attempted to entertain HF. No lie, I spent about 14 hours on it. In the end, it might not look like much but it was a real learning experience.
