@LSCII saw this and thought of you:

Me: Dude I like this music
Uber Driver: Man, if music was drugs....Jazz would be weed.
Me: What are the others?
Uber Driver: Man, hip hop is cocaine, Rock is heroin and country is cigarettes.
Me: Cigarettes?
Uber Driver: Yeah Man, even though it’s nasty, everybody has tried it at least once.
Me: Hmmmmmm

Watched Bill Burr and Dave Chapelle's Netflix specials last night back to back and I have to say Burr's was way better. My wife and I were laughing out loud way more with Burr than with Chapelle. He seemed to be more focused on commentary than comedy to us

Enjoyed them both but you’re right, the latest Burr special is great

The original Pink Panther movie is on TCM right now which always reminds me of this classic scene from The Pink Panther Strikes Again

Two great lines from Peter Sellers in this scene:

“Do you have a reum?”

“Does your deoug bite?”

Thought both specials were great but I think Burr may be the best comedian going right now

Had to take Daisy to the vet since she was acting like she had another UTI. Today is day 2 of tests. Bloodwork came back okay but now they are doing an x-ray for kidney stones. Kinda wishing I had bought pet insurance for her. :help:

She still acts like the same happy dog, at least.

Healing wishes to your pup. Pet insurance seems so frivolous until your pet actually needs it. Back still living in CA, my first dog tore her cruciate ligament (apparently dogs only have one, not separate ACLs and PCLs) and had to have it surgically repaired. Considered pet insurance after that, but decided not to. Less than two months later, she tore the other side. Again considered it, again decided no (what's left to tear, right?) Moved to Mass and she fell out of our second story window, breaking her hind femur and dislocating front "wrist" (not sure if dogs have wrists). More surgery. The things we do for our pets, right?

RIP OUT OF TOWN NEWS - 1955-2019

How long have I been going there? I bought tickets to my first concert there

Out of Town News to Leave Town | News | The Harvard Crimson

Harvard Square staple Out of Town News will officially close its doors at the end of October.

Plans to restore the 64-year-old newsstand, which is located in front of the Harvard Square T stop, have been in the works for almost a year. The upcoming construction will renovate the elevator leading to the underground station and make necessary repairs to the kiosk’s historic structure.

Out of Town News has sold newspapers from around the globe to Cambridge residents, students, and celebrities. Famous patrons included poet Robert Frost, celebrity chef Julia Child, and Microsoft founders Paul Allen and Bill Gates. The Cambridge
Historical Commission voted to designate the kiosk a landmark in October 2017.

The closing comes at a time of extensive commercial turnover in the Square; Urban Outfitters, Crema Cafe, and Chipotle, among others, have all closed their doors in the past year.

Though the structure will remain intact after construction completes, the kiosk will no longer be in operation due to growing competition for customers in Harvard Square and the declining demand for print papers, according to Executive Director of the Harvard Square Business Association Denise A. Jillson.

“I believe what they make is one dime on every paper that you sell,” said Jillson. “The millennial cohort, and many of the... boomer [generation] get their news online. So fewer and fewer newspapers are being sold.”

Out of Town News also sold Harvard-branded clothing and items that Jillson said could be purchased elsewhere.

“They’re selling Harvard insignia or whatever that you can purchase at the Coop and [Harvard] Student Agencies or elsewhere in the Square, and cigarettes, and lottery tickets, and, frankly, pornography,” Jillson said. “Those three things… if people want
to buy it, there are other places to buy.”

Out of Town News owner Mike Patel did not respond to a request for comment.

Jillson said she is “really pleased” that Out of Town News’ purpose in Harvard Square has reached its expiration date.

“It’s time to move on,” she said. “It’s going to be wonderful.”

Funny that someone I have helped for the last week( got them, their daughter, sister, nieces and nephews some rooms for a few days in a hotel and they're currently sleeping at my place) told me sometimes I can be selfish. Someone I literally bend over backwards to help. Well kicking em from my spot today cuz well. I dont like disrespect also been hella disrespectful last few nights when I got home from work.

Thanks y'all. After a bunch of tests and $$$, it appears Daisy just has an infection of some sort. Waiting on the culture results to confirm what type. No kidney stones, no tumors, and overall is in pretty good shape for being 12. So that was a relief to hear. I'm hoping she has a good long life. :)

She does need to lose a couple pounds though. Kind of like her human. When the weather gets cooler I think we will be taking some longer walks.

Awww, poor doggo. And your poor wallet!

But, if something's wrong, you can't ignore it. I just need to figure out how to count a dog as a dependent on my HSA :sarcasm:

Pet plan isn't great but my Nia has Cushing's and her meds are pretty expensive, she also has to get tested a couple times a year so they are worth it. There have been a lot of new pet insurers the last couple years, ask your vet and see what they think about plans, most will recommend one they like or work with

Well Denise Jillson is a total ***** in my humble opinion and I hope a she gets knocked out by a flying stack of newspapers, that would really please me.
