spent a many early mornings there after long self serving nights at the disco`s.....great spot. Funny story, when we returned to Ottawa to celebrate Christmas with the family, I took the bride there because it`s what you do when in Ottawa, we had the same server that used to work overnight shifts all those years ago. Not sure he remembered me because he saw a million faces over the years but I sure remembered him, he said he paid his dues all those years ago to now just work Monday to Friday day shift

Seriously considering buying a switch for it
I pulled my usual when it came to Nintendo consoles.

Bought at launch for Zelda and played it for a week.

Collected dust til Mario Odessey came out.

Collected more dust.

However, since Pokemon Let’s Go came out, I’ve been getting my money’s worth. I use it almost exclusively as a handheld.

Making slow cooker chicken pot pie for dinner. We'll see how it turns out.

It's funny, I have many cookbooks, but all the recipes I've tried lately are just off the internet and Facebook

Got a bill today of a couple hundo for anesthesia during my surgery in October. Definitely fighting this. Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday, they call me Tuesday and move the date to next Wednesday which didn’t work for me. They offer Friday and i agree. So i go in on Friday, first thing in the am. I’m basically 1 of ten people in the entire wing. They wheel me in, introduce me to the team, i sign some shit and i wake up on Monday (that’s what it felt like anyway)

Apparently the guy working the drip was a contract job, which i don’t recall ever hearing about. Certainly not with any advance notice. Mass law states that without any reasonable opportunity to choose a new provider then my insurance has to pay for the out of network doc.

I’m fighting it. 7am, surgery already rescheduled once and the OR running a skeleton crew for my procedure, nah I’m not paying this.

Wait until you get the bill for the guy who picked up some lint off the floor in your room

I don't understand medical billing at all

I've been working with EMRs for almost 17 years now, and even I don't understand medical billing.
I swear every person in billing does things differently and when you factor in the constant changes to the ICD-9/10 codes, you can never get a straight answer from the hospital or the insurance company

Sounds like it’s done to be intentionally complex

Check out Dark Souls, it’s like Zelda for masochists.

I go through the same thing with Nintendo consoles but the Switch has been better then any Nintendo console since the N64 for me. Doom and Skyrim were good, played some good indie platformers, Sonic. Fortnite is pretty addicting.

I never played Metroid but apparently the Prime trilogy is coming to Switch, I’ll check that out.

They need to make an HD Zelda bundle with every 3D Zelda and put it out for Switch, stop making people buy the games for every system.

I like BOTW, but I want a more traditional Zelda on Switch.

Love Wind Waker.

Love the originals and Link to the Past.

Make a 3D updated Link’s Awakening.

I did medical office management for a few years.

They have to disclose to you that hes a contractor--did you read what you signed?

make an appeal. If they were responsible for the rescheduling, they should have told you about the change.

Children's Hospital charges $1900 for a 45 minute GI visit. I recently had a root canal that took 55 minutes and the insurance company was billed $1674. My heart surgery (5 1/2 hours) cost $60000. There are more people from the medical world in the top 5% of US earners than any other field. Despite this ludicrous overcharging, the biggest costs in healthcare are administrative errors and fraud.

Yeah you got me beat. I think everything was just north of 20k on my shoulder, 2 hour procedure. I haven’t seen a bill until this one for anesthesia, which was roughly 3 grand and they’re essentially trying to get me for 10 percent. Doesn’t make sense

Ludicrous overcharging sums it up nicely.

It's no less complex on the insurer side either... Nice job security as an analyst for them though.

And had a similar issue with my anesthesiologist. Had my biceps reattached in October. Got a 2k bill because they billed insurance I haven't had for 7 years. Set that one straight quickly

There are now companies hired by Ins companies to investigate suspicious charges, and they are overwhelmed. One example, they investigated a substance abuse rehab facility who was charging Ins companies $1000 a day to those that were insured, and $100 a a day to those who were not. In my opinion one of the biggest scams out there is orthodontists and braces,at about an average of $6000 a whack, with Ins companies paying about $4000,and they've never met a kid who didn't need them. Growing up,I probably knew 1 or 2 kids all through school who had braces, now it's every other kid.

My favorite portion of the billing is to observe the "discounts" on the claim. The one that took the cake was anesthesiologist for my shoulder surgery: amount billed - $19,000, agreed upon fee - $1,100, I was on the hook for 20% of the agreed-upon. What it simply means, if I walk in without insurance, I will be paying $19,000, when the doctor can afford and still make a profit off $1,100. Nice margin...

In light of what you are saying about the rehab facility - it is, actually, legally allowed price discrimination. Technically, it is per se illegal, but there were several court cases in the 50's-60's that pretty much codified it for legal and medical professions. I presume the investigation will not get anywhere, when the PR machine will start rolling - evil insurance company targets the poorest group of people to extort money.
