October 2019: Opening night Line-up predictions
What do you guys predict the roster will look like in October 2019 on opening night?
Here’s what I think:
Ferland-Pettersson-Boeser
Roussel-Horvat-Leivo
Eriksson-Gaudette-Virtanen
Motte-Beagle-MacEwan
Schaller
Edler-Stecher
Hutton-(farm/UFA/Gudbranson)
Hughes-Tanev
Brisebois
Markstrom
Demko
1) I predict that our big free agent signing will be Michael Ferland.
2) Goldobin will be traded for a pick at the draft.
3) Benning will find a way to move Sutter but with some significant retention.
4) Gaudette and MacEwan make the team
5) None of our other forward prospects make the team next year.
6) Baertschi retires
7) Granlund, Gaunce, and Pouliot are let go.
8) If the Canucks can clear enough cap space, they’ll go after a RD (Myers?), but will likely end up promoting one of Woo, Chatfield, or another RD within the system.
9) Edler is extended. $6.25 million AAV for 3 years.
10) Juolevi starts in Utica.
11) Boeser will get $7.5 million AAV for 8 years.
12) Benning will move Gudbranson if a deal can be made or IF someone in the farm is ready to step up on that right side. Significant retention will be required.
13) Benning might try and find way to move or demote Eriksson if he needs the cap space.
