Found this bit (from the Herald link) interesting..

The 34-year-old Gagne seems a longshot to make the team after his year away from the game.

“His skating has gotten better (through camp),” said Julien. “I think, like anybody else who’s been off that long, maybe his timing and his playmaking and passing isn’t there. Again, there are decisions that have to be made.”

Caron's already on the books for a miniscule amount. I take Caron over Gagne with this team's current cap/roster situation.
