Leier:

OTF: Flyers recall LW Taylor Leier

The Flyers have recalled left wing Taylor Leier from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, according to general manager Ron Hextall today.

Leier will be available for tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres, wearing #58.

From October 18-19:

Michael Raffl, who had been in Schenn's spot, will miss 10 to 14 days with an injury suffered Tuesday when he was checked into the boards.

Now that's interesting, since he could have easily called up one of the veteran forwards to sit in the press box. We'll see if Leier gets to play.

Raffl on IR is just paperwork really. He can come back the same day. It's so Leier can come up, and if Coots can't go, to play. It does say a lot about Leier that he's the first call up as a forward. He really had a great preseason.
