Most of these 5 year deals are structured so that the guaranteed money is up to year 3. Years 4-5 is mainly base salary which isn’t guaranteed. Just have to eat any of the SB money that remains at that point if they cut the player.

But is it worth signing a receiver to what usually amounts to a 3 yr deal if no passers you have are gonna get you anywhere? That's not me saying Eli can't either, but if that's the perception.

I agree that Eli is a average to below average QB these days, I disagree that it’s going to be easy for the Giants to get a significant QB upgrade in the first few years of Beckham’s contract.

Thats not really true. Fitz had some off years in 2012 and 2014.

It was just a fake story from his camp telling the Giants to ante up and pay him what hes worth. They were never going to move him & for a personality such as his, NYC is the best place to be.

As long as he’s not simply split out wide which makes him easier to cover with a safety over the top, you can scheme ways to get him the ball, despite poor QB play. Have to move him around.

I hate Manning but you could argue hes had a better career than Pig Pen Cheeseburger.
