There is no reason for the Rangers to move him. Hes signed to a cheap contract for 1 more year. If the Rangers move him it's for an overpayment.

If you want Kreider for 2 playoff runs, and especially if you can't offer a 2019 1st, I'd want your top prospect for him.

Unless DeBrusk is on the table, I don't think the Bruins have the right pieces to get Kreider. McKenzie said the Rangers want a building block for Kreider. Studnicka, Frederic, and Vaakanainen are good prospects but not building blocks.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a package that good moved for a player - any player - since I started following the NHL.

I love Kreider, but I’d safely bet on him not being the first.

A deal for Kreider isn't one that will be agreed upon on a message board.

That type of trade will require a significant player - a "foundational piece," as I think Gorton has termed it - in return. Given Kreider's prominence in NYR and his chemistry with Zibanejad, any team looking to acquire him should expect to surrender something big.

I wouldn't be surprised if they re-upped with Hayes, but I think Zuccarello is a goner. Namestnikov may be, too, but that extra year may compromise the return, unless the acquiring term is a big fan of the player.
