I just can't imagine a world I'm which Yzerman would make a move for Lucic. It makes very little sense.

Why would we do that?

Save 1.5 in cap right away, if we bury him we get another 925k in space, 2.4 is a lot. We could keep him as a 7/8 if we have space and trade one of Koekkoek or Dotchin. Next offseason with him having 2 years left is easier to move again if needed. His buyout next year would be less than 1mil but jumps to 3 the year after but its next year we need the space more. So we are saving now and next offseason if bought out since Callahan buyout is 2.6 next year.
