With Rangers winning the lottery, they are probably more inclined to deal this pick for a veteran/non-rookie Center or LHD. Wouldn’t have a problem with it being a rental. Curious what offers they could get for a 2020 1st (let’s assume pick is in the 20s). Looking for 1 v 1 deals only for thread purposes to try and avoid derailing.

Appreciate the input.

Appreciate the OP and respect his 1:1 preference this go around, though I disagree and anticipate it will likely have to be a package.

That said, in replying everyone pls note and understand NY does not want to get jammed w/exp draft.

You aren’t going to get what you are looking for unless it’s a low ball offer or someone has jumped eho was a 3rd or 4th rounder like in college or Europe and now has that value.

You will not get a former 1st eho is ED exempt.

Maybe not but they can certainly get a rental. Point is the Rangers probably can’t add someone they need to protect unless it’s a special case. Good rentals are dealt for 1sts every year.

Rentals are very different from ED exempt. You can get those for the 1st.

Well you guys are weak on left D right???

Yes and no.

We have to be careful about overspending on a stopgap, esp when the exp draft could take a better acquisition that a club cannot protect.

We need to unload expiring Smith, move on from expiring Staal, and give those mins to Hajek, a key piece in a major trade, and Rykov, so we can see what we've got.

In addition to Lindgren, we have K'Andre Miller, just a ? of whether he is here next season or following. Also a few others.

Until he is dealt, we have Deangelo available at LD
