Casual flybys on loose pucks, streaks down the wing on a rush, does a little curl, maybe loses the puck, but certainly puts himself out of dangerous scoring areas. Doesn't distribute the puck to a teammate who may have a better scoring opportunity.

Nylander has 36 HDCF at even strength in the last 11 games. Tavares has 46, Marner has 42 and Matthews has 37.

These are not just super low % shots that he's taking.

He had the most shots and shot attempts from dangerous scoring areas on the team in the last game.

Marner played soft minutes with linemates that averaged about 110 points. Nylander played tougher usage with linemates that averaged about 115-120 points. Marner played on a PP1 with three other top 50 PP producers. Nylander played on a unit where he and Matthews were the only above average PP players.

I mean, at this point there's no need for these disingenuous takes to point out that Marner is better.

It has to be as they have never been comparable.

Don't really understand why people love Willy so much. Good player but MM has given the leafs more to chear for. To continue to compare MM to WN just makes Willy look worse than the good player that he is. Expectations are way too high. You can be worse than MM and still be one of the better players in the league.
