NYI Top 10 Prospects

1. Dylan Strome
Strome who was just recently acquired from Minnesota has finally showed his skill that were displayed in both junior and the AHL. Ever since being traded to Chicago, Strome has been on a tear, scoring 30 points in 32 games for Chicago.

2. Samuel Girard
Girard is following up his stellar rookie season, with around the same production. Girard has played on all three defensive pairs for Colorado this season averaging just under 20 minutes a night, and getting regular minutes on the second power play unit.

3. Jeremy Roy
Roy is finally healthy and showing his ability to be a two-way defensemen. He is playing in an organization with a great defense core and Ryan Merkley doing well in junior. Hopefully he continues his development in the AHL and squeezes into the Shark’s lineup.

4. Frederic Allard
After Allard’s stellar rookie pro season last year, he has continued to show his explosive offensive awareness gaining top pair minutes and power play time. Almost at his point total from last year in 12 last games, Allard is knocking on Nashville’s door, hoping to take a bottom 6 role in the already stacked defense core.

5. Jeremy Lauzon
Lauzon cracked the Bruin’s roster for 15 games, and showed good two-way skills but lacked any offensive ability. Back in the AHL now, Lauzon is continuing to work on his offensive game, and will hopefully make his way back to the Bruin’s soon.

6. Dmitri Zavgorodny
My first ever draft pick, already has 6 more points in 9 less games and is currently a point per game guy, playing with Lafreniere. Still very small and no explosive speed, but has a wicked shot.

7. Frederik Gauthier
The GOAT, finally a regular in the NHL (until Tyler Ennis comes back). Has a career high 10 points and doesn’t look half bad defensively. Seems to work well as a fourth line center (53% Faceoff), let’s hope he stays there.

8. Colby Sissons
After an explosive 71 points in the WHL last year, has come back down to earth in the AHL. He is currently in the bottom 6 of the defenseman for Binghamton. He is projecting to be a bottom pair defenseman in the NHL, hopefully.

9. Theodor Blueger
Teddy Blueger is an NHLer. After 3+ seasons in the AHL Teddy got the call up. Having a stellar season in the AHL matched his career high 21 goals before scoring 2 goals in his first three games. Hopefully he stays with the team and gives them the depth that Pittsburgh needs.

10. Julius Bergman
Hoping for more of an opportunity since the trade from San Jose to Ottawa in the offseason, Bergman has been somewhat of a letdown, having no goals and only 6 assists in 33 games. Bergman is looking for a strong second half to his season and potentially getting called up to the last place Senators.
