Is there a chance there's a team desperate enough for a forward to take a shot?

As a Winnipeg I really liked him during his time here. He is no where near the same player but there is a part of me that would love him back on the fourth line. Just not at that price tag.

That 2016 free agency class was just brutal, it has to go down as one of the worst ever. Shame to see so many players from that class barely hanging on to NHL gigs. Hopefully Ladd will find his game down in Bridgeport highly doubt he gets claimed.

If he was making 1-2.5 less this would be a different story I feel. I think he’s still good for 20-30 points for sure.

Why would LA do this?
Why Would Vancouver?
New York would
simply put they wouldn't

Vancouver would shed some salary, and have been looking to move Loui for a while, but they wouldn't want to take on more term from Ladd.
LA would need incentive.

Just a number of high paid vets with term having a hard time fitting in right now, is all

He was done even in his last season with Winnipeg. That was a shockingly bad contract. 7 years 38.5M$ for a guy who was already done? The only explanation is that Snow hadn't even seen him play. It was just stunning.
