I don't care, I just want one of them. They're all so close, it's a toss up.

Barzal and I say that as someone who loathes the Islanders, kid is absolutely amazing.

Aho gets more opportunities and Point plays on an amazing team, we saw what Barzal accomplished in his first year in a great situation, now he has been thrust into the number 1 role as a 21 year old and is doing damn well with it.

Maybe I'm delusionally high on Barzal, but I really think he can be one of the best players in the NHL, his hands, skating and vision are just simply so sick and he has about the same if not lesser help than Aho.

You're right. Barzal's .97 career ppg is in a totally different class than Aho's .82.

Normally, this comparison will benefit the guy who has played the extra season as rookies usually don't score over a point per game like Barzal did in his first season. And now playing in a defensive minded system, allowing the fewest GA for over 50 games of his 137 just improves Barzal's status.

Only about 5 or 6 guys have started their careers near a ppg with same amount of games in the past 20 years like Barzal. Aho isn't one of em. "Can only dream of..." Funny.

Barzal was 20-21 year old at his rookie year and Aho was 19 for the entire season of his rookie season. Barzal had crazy rookie season yes no doubt and he is special player but developement isn’t linear. Right now it’s close for these 2 players. Both are elite young upcoming franchise C’s. Point is in the same group aswell. It is a great poll but i think Barzal and Aho have slightly more game breaking ability.

I know it's close. I was just pointing out how ludicrous his phrases were when Barzal has a Calder and the better numbers.

It's funny, on Friedman's latest 31T podcast he mentioned how he wondered about guys getting offer sheets, and no offense to him, but he didn't think Aho was worth it compared to offer sheeting guys like Matthews.

    What a dummy.

What is it with posters like this every time there's a thread comparing talented players? Even if you believe the ranking has Barzal last, you just come across as ignorant of the player you're discussing when you say the above.

Barzal. He will contend for the Art Ross in his prime on an annual basis.

I like Point but this has to be Aho. What he's doing with such a poor surrounding cast is really impressive. He's 14 points ahead of the 2nd guy on his team and 30 (!!!) points ahead of the 3rd highest scoring Canes player. Incredible. Meanwhile Point is playing with guys like Kucherov, Stamkos and Hedman. Bit of a difference there.

Point is a great player but he's 3rd for me simply because the other two are proving to be able to produce with very little help. Not saying Point can't, but he has a stacked lineup to play with, we haven't seen him be "the guy" on a team.

Point. He beats his peers this season in goals and points. Argument about his team and linemates is not really an argument. Its a guess. Since nobody knows for sure how they would played if we switched them.

Saying any of them arent in the same league as the other 2 is a hyperbole

Actually Barzal is correctly rated here as of now.
He is ~42.7% behind Point in votes and ~42% behind Point in points.
Less than 1% difference is not "hella". It's what people call "negligible".

He’s playing in the most defensive system in the league and leading his team in scoring, the bolts and canes are far from that and barzal doesn’t have a kucherov on his line either

And the space separating them is very, very small.

You cant prove anything you just stated as facts. Those are guesses.

My guess is that Point could have 100 point right now if no defensive responsibilities and away from Kucherov - as good as yours.

While, for example, Crosby has 1.29 ppg with Pens (with very bad linemates) and only 1.27 ppg with the team Canada (with very good linemates) is not a guess. Its a fact.

    Same tier for real tho

    Should be tied in poll

Voted Barzal without reading thread because I'm guessing he had the lowest amt of votes due to: not as underrated or as finnish as Aho and not the flavour of the year as in Point

    Was right

Barzal is playing with a mixture of Beauvillier, Dal Colle, Bailey and Eberle.

I'm guessing Point is playing with more established, higher offensive-caliber players.

Plus the Tampa system is much more relaxed than the NYI system, allowing the Tampa forwards to be more aggressive offensively.
