Honestly I'm starting to get really pissed that the league isn't cracking down on this stuff. Not only are they not handing out any suspensions, but the refs hardly ever call this stuff either. Ridiculous.

So... the Wild are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games... which is damn fricking good... 17pts!

Yet those 17pts only gained...

1pt on Chicago
3pts on Colorado
1pt on St.Louis
2pts on Anaheim
2pts on Phoenix
3pts on Dallas
4pts on LA
5pts on Vancouver
5pts on San Jose

Unfortunately the smallest gains were on the meat of our division... but at least we've gained on EVERYONE to a degree. ;)

This conference is just brutal!

Ya. 8th in the entire NHL. And only 4th in our division.

Watched the last few games from the Islanders. Clutterbuck-Nino trade looks really bad for them. Hardly sees the ice at all and almost never on the PK. Which seems weird to me because he was one of the best PK players on this team and is somewhat of a threat both in transition and in chasing a cleared puck.

As an aside, no chance Vanek re-ups there if they keep playing the way they are.

Colorado seems to be coming back down to earth after that beating by the Blues last night.

Did not know that Alex Steen was already up to 16 goals. :amazed:

No surprise. I've always thought Clutterbuck was horribly overrated. He has 3 points in 14 games while Nino has 13 points in 19 games. And guess which one of those is going to keep getting better?

Nino has 10 points in 19 games.

Weird. It feels like we haven't even played that well the last 10 games..

It's perspective. A couple years ago, they were slightly behind how well they are now, but that was good enough to get the top spot in the league for over a month. Now, with a much better team, playing at the best points pace this team has ever had, they're in 8th in the league, 7th in the conference and 4th in the division. The struggle to make gains makes the success harder to see.

Well, considering in the last 10 games we've gone 8-1-1, yet we've had a +8 in goal differential during those games. Its not like we're winning by much.

When you consider the team is a +9 on the entire year, and if they had been consistent with that differential like our division competition we'd be ball park with the rest...that +8 in the last ten is where we had to get to to get successful like everyone else.

You forget that the NHL doesn't have a lot of blowouts, and has lots of parity. Close games are an NHL staple, not just with the Wild.

Bolded: ruh...ruh...ruh ruh ruh ruh reeeemix. :sarcasm:

As for the rest. Not exactly. Can't look at the East considering how much the West has been blowing them out. It only helps to look at our own Conference. And we are still behind most, except for Phoenix. St Louis +21 Chicago +18 San Jose +24 Colorado +21 Anaheim +16. Not exactly in line with the best of the west.

Obviously you didn't get my post, and not sure why your quote has an extra to...

+8 in the last 10. +1 in all games before...if those earlier games were like the last 10, we'd be looking at +15 or 16. That would be ballpark to our competition. The last of which you listed is +16.

Thus my point, had the team consistently had the current goal diff, instead of starting so slow, we'd be ballpark. That shows the current 10 games for +8 is where we needed to get to.
