ya but he played like crap.... MVP of that team was tochet, hawerchuck, and sutter..regardless of whether everybody remmbers amrio's game winning goal. Canada was losing that final game 4 - 1 before the afore mentioned put on their boots picked up their buckets and went to work..
 
This kind of thing happens every international competition involving the NHLers. 10 years from now, people will look at the '98 Naganoe team and say to themselves: "Who the hell was Rob Zamuner?" It's a byproduct of taking the players who either a) are in the prime of their career playing at their peak at that particular time, or b) picking players to play a specific role on the team.

Think about say..... Richard Matvichuk and you're not too far off. Pretty big for his time at 6' and 214 lbs. was a solid, no mistakes kind of guy who took care of the crease and made smart first passes with the puck. He was a shutdown-type. Not super physical, but played angles well and was very, very hard to get by one on one.
